You should try Coogans Bluff... it's like a weird transition or link from his Dollars trilogy to his Dirty Harry series. Clint Eastwood has done some phenomenal films. Try the aforementioned Dollars trilogy, Where Eagles Dare, The Eiger Sanction, Firefox, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Gauntlet, Tightrope Pale Rider... for starters (there's many more classics) lol.

Another franchise i love. I first saw the original in the mid 80s when i was 5 or 6, and loved it as much then as i do now. I love all 5 to varying degrees. 5 The Enforcer 4 Magnum Force 3 The Dead Pool 2 Sudden Impact 1 Dirty Harry

Seen them all . I agree with your critic, except one, and two . I would have put Dirty Harry at one, and Magnum Force at two . Other than that . I think you were spot on .

What pisses me off about the Dirty Harry series is the reused names… *SPOILER ALERT AHEAD!!!* The killer in the first film, Scorpio, whose real name is Charles Davis has the same surname as the right hand man of the boss of the Corrupted Cops in Magnum Force, John Davis. And the Corrupted Police superior responsible for the four Vigilante Cops: John Davis, Alan ‘Red’ Astrachan, Mike Grimes & Phil Sweet was none other than the main antagonist in the second film, Lieutenant Neil Briggs, who has the same surname of Captain Briggs who was a real jerk and such a pr*ck to Callahan in Sudden Impact although he was working for the good guys throughout unlike Lt. Neil Briggs. Couldn’t they be more inventive with last names and make them more unique? Obviously these characters are not related so it doesn’t make sense they were unable to differentiate the names better.

Good ranking. For me the highlight of the enforcer was the feminist maytr. It's an arch that pushes sudden impact to my number 1 even better than the original Dirty Harry . I liken sudden impact to the unforgiven.

As a franchise it probably is overlooked, yeah I like Tyne Daly in part three, I think she did a great job, but the overall film reminded me of a TV movie.

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@themovierankerFun Fact: DeVeren Bookwalter, who portrayed Bobby Maxwell in the Enforcer, is the same nude guy who has a bisexual threesome orgy with Lou Guzman, a minor antagonist whom along with Bookwalter ends up getting murdered in Magnum Force. While I’m at it, here’s another one but doesn’t make much sense. In the Enforcer, Captain Jerome McKay is Callahan’s d*ckhead superior portrayed by Bradford Dillman. Then, in the upcoming sequel, Sudden Impact, Bradford Dillman reappears but as a different character, Captain Briggs. Now why in god’s name why couldn’t the filmmakers reuse the Captain Jerome McKay name? It’s the same actor, same look (Both portrayals sport the mustache), exact same rank, act like the same @$$hat in both the Enforcer and Sudden Impact. Is there legal issues between the third and fourth installment the name had to be changed? I was always confounded on this. I just don’t get it. Oh well, at least this Briggs didn’t try to kill Callahan.

I had seen all five movies of Dirty Harry. On cable and at the movie theater. And I did enjoy seeing them all. The 1st one is Dirty Harry is the best with the Scorpio killer, the 2nd one is Magnum Force is about Vigilante Cops, as good as the 1st. and 4th Sudden Impact the vengeful victim got raped with her sister. i liked that one also.
