It's a little confusing to know whether or not you'll receive a dividend payment when you recently buy or sell shares. However if you understand the basics of dividend payment dates, you'll know if your dividend will be paid out or not. I'll explain all the dates. The declaration date, ex date, record date and payment date. Hopefully this clears up any confusion around dividend payments.
