I agree, Series 8 is my favourite doctor who series of all time. So underrated, not a single bad episode. I love 12 and Clara so much.

I'm such a nerd and love ranking/hearing other people's opinions. And firstly: amazing video; very well edited! Secondly: extremely intriguing list... S6 being at the bottom is understandable due to its convoluted nature, and it not wrapping up the mystery well. But I love how ambitious it is. S2 was the season I grew up with, but watching it now I didn't have much enjoyment. And a fellow S8 enjoyer!!! I literally think it's great, and one of the very best! It's the definition of solid all the way through, with the exception of In the Forest of the Night (but it wouldn't be DW without a terrible episode to make fun of). It's to me the darkest and scariest season. Plus Capaldi is my fave doctor. I completely get what you mean with letting Moffat cook. I stopped watching S8 live and didn't return to DW til Flux had finished. Now, it's one of my faves! Here's my list, excluding the new S1 with Ncuti Gatwa, which I'll start after watching The Giggle and The Church on Ruby Road. After which, I'll begin Classic Who. Worst- S13 (Flux) (3/10) S2 (6/10) S11 (6/10) S12 (6/10) S9 (6/10) S5 (7/10) S6 (7/10) S7 (7/10) S10 (7/10) S1 (7/10) S8 (8/10) S3 (8/10) S4 (9/10) Best- Imo, there's no perfect season of Who. But I love it to bits nonetheless! I'll be sure to check out more of your DW vids. PS, never played Magic until Comic-Con with my friends this October. We played (me with my friend's DW deck) til 4 AM at the hotel lol.

Magic is so fun! Glad the Who cards got me into the game. Yeah watching 8 live was painful because it just felt like Clara and 12 were toxic for each other, treating Danny badly, and it was just mean - but then you see the finale and get that it was SUPPOSED to be like that. He let me down with his pay-offs in series 6 and 7 so I had no hope, but he cooked too hard for 8 and 9. Series 2 I think doesn't work so well as a whole, but the end is so well done it uplifts a lot of the show.

It's all subjective though. He certainly has VERY different taste in Doctor Who than I do but there's no wrong / right or good / bad when it comes to how much you enjoy a TV show.

@@Scumner I'm not into ranking things myself because of certain reasons I have, but I can say series 6 is one of my favourites so that's why you're an evil man and not a real doctor who fan. [This is an example of hyperbolic sarcasm to humorously convey the opposite of the words' literal meaning.]

The Ponds and their drama did get tiresome. However, I think ANY of Matt Smiths are better than Jodie Witaker, who killed Doctor Who for me. And it isn't because she is a woman, it's just that so much was poorly written and there is just so much missing. The absence of Murray Gold for instance just ruins things for me. I also think that Peter Capaldi is vastly underrated. For me he is THE Doctor, and that's even with Tom Baker being my favorite, and David Tennent a close second. Peter Capaldi is not only the best portrayal of the Doctor but his tenure is greatly assisted by the very best Master, Missy!

I agree they killed the hype, but going back to the Jodie series, they have a lot more good than people gave credit in their first watch - me included! I agree that Capaldi is the doctor for sure! Missy is the only great Master we’ve had in New Who

Not so controversial on 7, I think it has a lot of different episode concepts I enjoy, it was just a weird time of year for people with it split into two halves.

@@Scumner The 2013 specials really help in this ranking. Without them series 7 would be a couple spots lower, but I do believe that it's a perfectly fine series in its own right though and I find it underrated overall. I think it's very consistent in quality which in this case is both a blessing and a curse for this in my opinion. On the one hand It's very consistently good for me, but JUST good. Very average Doctor Who. Nothing remarkable and no real stand out episodes like all previous series had which makes in quite unmemorable in a way. But, likewise it doesn't reach the same lows as previous series for had done for me.

@@Scumner yeah I hated series 6 too when it first broadcast. It has since grown on me with rewatches, now that I can now better appreciate the quality of individual stories like The Impossible Astronaut / The Day of the Moon, The Doctors Wife, The Girl who Waited, A Christmas Carol (if you count that as series 6 as per the home media releases) etc., and separate them from the overall series story arc which just didn't work at all. All the stuff with the River / Melody mystery was terrible and never really went anywhere, and the Finale was just silly and a complete cop out.
