Its also worth mentioning that Afton, while in the Spring Bonnie suit, uses a hand two wipe the blade of the knife, extremely similar to the way Ghostface does in the Scream movies. Which, of course, Matthew Lillard was one of the originals. Not as FNAF easter egg, but definitely an easter egg for Lillard's role as Stu.

I feel like Golden Freddy being so obviously a ghost-animatronic, yet still notably giving weight to the taxi cab could be a hint towards Midnight Motorist, where there’s an impression of weight for a three-toed animatronic that seemingly appears and disappears since there’s no footprints leading up to it. Also something I noticed, the withering on Spring Bonnie is strangely specific, it’s almost all on the right side, which is interesting since the LEFT side of Golden Freddy’s head is damaged in a similar way. I don’t know why, but I did notice that on the stage, Fredbear would be standing to Spring Bonnie’s right, meaning if something happened between them while on stage, it’d affect the sides of them that have withering. No idea what that means or why they included it though

I noticed that the songs lyrics fit surprisingly well with the version of the story we see in the movie, which with the inclusions of sparky the dog, Purple Guy being the phone guy, dream theory, vanessa being williams daughter, mike shmidtt being unrelated to william afton, and finally sans=ness, makes it seem like the movie was specifically built off of incorrect theories to make the entire thing un-theorizable. For the role Mark was supposed to play, he was actually going to play Fritz (the night guard from the start of the movie), as confirmed by MatPat in his most recent video on Film Theory about his cameo. As for other Easter Eggs: Abby and Steve Raglan are anagrams. Abby is pretty obviously “Baby,” and with Ella being a version of Circus Baby, and Abby almost getting stuffed inside of her… yeah that lines up. Steve Raglan on the other hand is a misspelling of “Everlasting,” just with an A replacing the I, making it Everlastang. Obviously a reference in and of itself to him never really dying.

@@Echosinfireify I do think the movie has a lot of holes, but some of your inquiries are explained in the movie. Afton tried to kill Mike by proxy with the animatronics; when he couldn't because Mike escaped, he went down there to do it himself. The buzz saw mask has no plot importance for the movie itself, could be a torture machine made by Afton to kill kids/people or could be a movie version of the scoop, either way it serves its purpose of "killing people". Mike mom's death is also not that important to understand the plot: she got sick, died, and that's it. The dream theory thing was as much of an easter egg as it was to set up the explanation of the whole plot of Mike communicating/"going back to the past" in his dreams, as he explains to Vanessa in the movie itself. It is very much implied Vanessa was tortured/was murdered (perhaps) in the Isabel suit, and with her being Afton's daughter it parallels with the games which his daughter is Baby (Isabel's counterpart) and the books, which his "daughter" becomes, well, Isabel. Also Vanessa is a cop, and her being a cop Mike was probably scared of her authority and let her inside the pizzeria. The rest are either setups for the next movie (campground stuff), movie logic that is explained inside the movie even if it's dumb and makes no sense or just corny stupid fan service (the whole Springbonnie scene was just horribly campy and fan servicy imo). Again, I don't think this flick is perfect, and for a non fnaf fan it can be very mediocre, but you can understand the plot perfectly if you pay enough attention to what's in the screen.

Likely because the victims were able to tether themselves to the suits, while Garrett was killed in a way seemingly unrelated to Freddy's, and thus had nothing to tether onto. Why do the kids want to kill Abby? It's clearly stated by Vanessa that William Afton has some amount of control over them. Plus, they found her fun, and wanted her to join them. Why did Afton say "I always come back"? Because he kept coming back to the Pizzeria, first to kill the kids and then to kill Mike. Why did Mike let Vanessa hang around? She's a police officer who said the Pizzeria is part of her area, and he also wants to figure out what her deal is. Plus, she only does it twice - the first time, she comes in to help Mike and stays to tell him stuff, and the second time, she was already there when he arrived, and she stayed to help make the fort and keep Abby out of danger as well. How did Mike's mom die? That doesn't matter; all we need to know for the movie to work is that both of the parents are dead. Why was the dream theory stuff important? That was Mike's way of trying to figure out who kidnapped his brother. He states repeatedly that the book theorizes that your mind retains everything, but you have to know how to look for it, and so he keeps revisiting the same dream, trying to glean any details he can. Why was there an Isabel springlock suit? First off, I don't know who "Isabel" is; I think you meant "Eleanor". But to answer, it was a storage area full of old animatronics, like the Sparky costume. Unless you're asking why it was specifically Eleanor, in which case, it was likely just a reference. Why was Vanessa afraid of the springlocks despite nobody dying to them? Just look at them; they're _very clearly_ dangerous. The average person has probably never seen somebody hurt/killed by a chainsaw, and yet they're likely still scared of them because they _know_ they're dangerous. Why did Afton put on the head when dying? He knows people can possess the suits, and he's already dying, so he's giving himself the best chance of coming back. Why did Afton wait all week? To let his employment become established, and remove most suspicion that would come from recommending a job that immediately killed him, and either let the animatronics kill him or he'd come to do it himself. Why do they only know who killed them when Abby draws it? It's stated at the beginning of the movie that drawings are very important when it comes to a child's development and communication, and it's also stated that the victims don't remember how they died. So they're going off of what is basically the only reference point they have, which is the drawings. The other questions, I will admit, are less clear. But this is a mystery series, and it would be weird for a mystery series to have no mysteries.

It's unknown if one of those was Garret. 2. The "It's me" thing is clearly meant to be one of the mysteries, and it's not important to the story. 3. William clearly knows that if he dies in the suit then he'll come back, just like the kids. 4. To kill people? Duh 5. Vanessa is a police officer, Mike is clearly cautious around her. He confronts her when it comes evident that she knows more than she's letting on. 6. How exactly Mike's mom died isn't a plothole or even important to the story. 7. The circumstances of Garret's death seems to have been left as an open mystery to explore lately. That is, assuming that it wasn't just another one of William's methods for capturing kids. 8. Mike literally explains what the point of "Dream Theory" is. He saw who took Garret and thinks that the answer is still hidden somewhere in his subconcious. 9. It's just a piece of old Fazbear technology from the 80's to introduce the concept of springlocks, the fact that it looks like Isabel is either an easter egg or a coincidence. 10. Vanessa isn't "afraid" of springlocks, she just didn't want Mike to injure himself. 11. William puts the helmet back on so his spirit will posess the suit after death. 12. William was just waiting for the animatronics to kill Mike for him, and he might have sent Vanessa to check. 13. The movie establishes that sometimes children best understands things through pictures, it's the most direct way to communicate to the spirits outside of dreams.

I still firmly believe that the Ella Doll was actually just a re-design of Baby, simply and explicitly because of how they tried to shove the clear parallel of Elizabeth into it. It would make sense if they're not wanting to have the super advanced SL-style animatronics in their early 2000s story. I also think because of how the training tape was shot and written its a clear parallel to something like the Walten Files - where that world's parallel of William Afton had his partner killed or disappeared.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet, but when Mike is asleep and hallucinates the ghosts in his dreams, there's an audio anomaly that plays over the sound system that appears to either affect Mike and/or the Animatronics. This could be a nod to the "sound illusion discs". Also notable when "Golden Freddie" shows up at Abby and Mike's house, Abby SEES G. Freddy, and then he's replaced by "Cassidy". And last thing I noticed, Golden Freddy/"Cassidy" has the same look on his face as he's closing the door on Afton at the end of the movie, just another reference to FNAF UCN "the one you should not have killed"

What is so bizarre to me is William kidnapping children instead of just finding them in the pizzeria. He also must’ve planned this ahead of time considering the license plate was missing and he knew Garret’s last name. And what ever happened to Garret anyway? Remnant testing? Was he the fnaf 4 kid? Was William just feeling like killing a kid? Was it some kind of revenge on Mike’s family? I honestly have no idea why Garret was chosen, it seems so random when considering William’s other victims.

He might not have known Garrett's name: many serial killers collect newspaper clippings and other memorabilia of their crimes. He could have followed the story after the crime and learned Garret's name. He could have also learned the name from Garret himself later. I DO think the crime was premeditated, though, as you are correct. The liscence plate is missing. And where better to snatch a kid with as few authorities around than some park in Nebraska?

I think it was a really smart idea to have this new Vanessa essentially act as the “Michael Afton” of this universe, while Mike Schmidt is someone separate entirely. I’m betting the 2nd movie will be a prequel with elements from 4 and SL, then the 3rd movie will take elements from 3 and PS. Also, it was confirmed that Mark was supposed to be the security guard that dies at the very beginning.

I think the COME FIND ME message & the Puppets theme being the second credit song, might mean that Garret may be the Puppet in this timeline (which makes sense since the Puppets spirit was very clearly a boy in FNAF 2). Maybe in the sequel Whenever Vanessa wakes up she’ll tell Mike about the FNAF 2 location, causing him to realize he never saw his brother’s spirit in the first location despite being killed the same way as the other kids. Personally, I think they split Michael Afton's narrative role into 2 characters- Mike Schmidt the nightguard, Vanessa the child of William who knows a lot about Freddy's. I have so many positive thoughts about this film, and it's so cool to finally see it after so many years of waiting. To begin, I just want to say that Matthew Lillard's portrayal of William Afton is incredible, and I can't wait to see more of it (a sequel for the film is reportedly already in preproduction). Now, about the surname Schmidt, William Afton recognized Mike Schmidt's surname because he kidnapped and murdered his brother Garrett Schmidt. William likely would have seen news reports about Garrett's disappearance, so he was aware of his family's surname. Now, about Markiplier's scrapped cameo, Markiplier was initially intended to be the security guard who was killed at the beginning of the movie. Another cool Easter egg shows that the corpse of Abby Schmidt's babysitter Max is shoved into a Shadow Freddy costume. Not only that, but her death by Freddy Fazbear is shown to us through a shadow. Kat Conner Sterling has also hinted things about Shadow Freddy numerously on X.

I have a lot to say about the film. First, seeing it in theaters was great, however, the crowd was wild. A little too wild, as I missed the Mattpat scene dialogue when he says "its just a theory" because people kept screaming "he said the thing". But also I didn't hear the Freddy song at the end. It could be that my theater didn't get it or the audio was messed up or something, but I waited to hear the song and it never played. Sure, we got the haunting "come find me" at the end, but people were cheering, talking with each other, taking pictures, etc that you couldn't hear what it was saying. It really did bother me that we got not explanation on the Freddy mask torture device either. I hope they give us more information on it in the next film. I think it would have been hilarious if Mark got the pharmacist role, too. Imagining him with cleaned up hair, glasses maybe, and just saying "what an asshole" is funny. And honestly, all the references were great too. It made me think back to all the content I've consumed over the years. Can't believe its been like 9 years or something. What a time to be alive.

It's amazing that this movie was SO accurate to the game that it's hard to tell the difference between what was put in on purpose vs as a bonus! I just knew there was gonna be countless eggs in this! Just my two cents, I like your theory that the purple suit next to sparky could be shadow freddy, but my guess was that it was the hippo! It is hard to tell though since it's in the dark. Also about the cartoon 'A day at the zoo', it does make sense that it could be the origin of Fredbear from the early 1900's, it could also be another youtube reference to the first ever video, 'Me at the zoo'! The only thing I was mad about with the movie was that they didn't give Afton ANY motivation - immortality, resurecting loved ones, even just pure hatered for kids. Nothing. He just lured kids and killed them, even going as far as to kidnapped one outside of Freddies... like... why? Just give us at least a hint! But maybe they are leaving that for a sequel...? Also, the "Mike" on the training tape was never explained or adressed. Was it Vanessa's or William's doing?

i came up with an explanation for the movie lore and why it doesn't perfectly match up with the games while talking about it with my friend: i think of it similarly to how people think of the books, an alternate universe basically. My conclusion was that Vanessa in the movie takes the place of Michael in the games, except she doesn't have the guilt of accidentally causing a sibling's death and so is more, like, able to pull away from William's abuse and manipulation. the theory that Michael in the games works for his dad or is at least an accomplice for him until after Sister Location is something I've always thought had a good reasoning behind it and i think that's what the movie is telling us. Michael helped his dad or at least knew what his dad was doing and did nothing, until a certain point, I'm saying Elizabeth's death is what snapped him out of it because it's someone he cares for dearly that died. In the movie as well, Abby being the reason Mike does things also adds to this; if Elisabeth was born after the crying child's death, it would make more sense why Michael would keep quiet about William's murder spree for his sister's sake. (and why Elisabeth doesn't show up but has a bedroom in the fnaf 4 mini games, she wasn't born yet but they might have been setting up a bedroom for her birth) I'm not entirely sure why people think Elisabeth is the middle child specifically but i think it makes more sense if she's the youngest like in the movie. i had also thought of, since Vanessa takes Michael's place as the complicit child of William Afton, the movie could give us an idea of game Vanessa's backstory through Mike. someone who desperately needed a job and so took one that she was less than happy about at Freddy's. except, she doesn't have an Abby to take care of like Mike does, so she falls prey to William's mental control over her, so she becomes subordinate to him and the animatronics are never, idk they're unable to break free from William's control until later? i don't know if I'm expressing myself well, but these were just my thoughts on the movie : )

YES, thank you for mentioning the parallels of the Foxy scene to "The Silver Eyes". I think this Foxy in the arcade setting, hunting someone down with his apparenly better senses, like a wild fox might have, is just perfect for Fnaf and really gives the "supernatural but real" vibe. Also, alot of people mentioned Markiplier's cameo would likely have been the role as the security guard in the opening. Another note: you mention the credits start with the toreador march and freddy's laugh and then The Living Tombstone song plays. Actually the laugh and music box are part of the song's opening.
