That's some machine im a calf to beef farmer in Tipperary. A few years ago i bought 4 reared pet lambs in kilmallock mart for my kids and dat summer my way of dipping them was put them up the crush and i mixed that dipping liquid in a barrel a ran it threw the power washer giving them a good sokeing. Id a broken collor bone at the time and couldn't lift them ortherwise i would have dipped them into a barrel. Great channel i only found it this week. Your father is a gas man i work with my dad aswell at home. It can be hard sometimes most off the time is great. Keep d videos coming there great i still have a lot to watch.

Ah Joe and Dad, thats the best mobile dipper I've ever seen, much more efficient than the old ones towed behind a tractor or jeep . How many ewes an hour can you put through it Joe?. As always, i can't get over the great man your Dad is 😊

He's a mighty man for his age the old lad, We did 500 in 2.5 hours exactly, he can fit upto 10 or ore in the cage ,depending on the size of them. I'm never going back to the old way of dipping 👍 keep the comments coming👍👍

Tbh no, you can't beat a plunge dip, it really soaks into the skin all over and is 100% effective when done right. If they are very wolly. Would the jetters get the dip into the skin?

@@sheepshepherd you're probably right that plunge dip has to be more effective. We don't have many issues at all with jetting though, it's pretty rare to see any fly strike and when you do it's usually a lamb that sort of jumped through the jets to avoid them which is really rare.

That was an awesome video Glyn It's a great way to dip the sheep stress free for the sheep And a lot easier for you and your dad they were going up the ramp easy enough no lifting and pushing and you don't get splashed with dip its not the best stuff to get on yourself That's the safest way I've seeing sheep diped I'd say that's the way you'll be dipping in the future Glyn that's an awesome setup Jerry McCarthy has Really enjoyed the video Glyn Looking forward to the next one

Get a hardy breeze, that will lamb themselves. The less work the better, good fencing cause they will break you're heart. Good patience cause it will be tested and don't overdo the dosing.

A big thumbs up, Glyn, and always fab to watch the father and you👍. I was on a local chap's mobile dipper for a couple of seasons and enjoyed it. We had to haul a hellova big bowser with a tractor to empty the dirty dip into, and tow the dipper with a pick up. We had a lot of country to cover on bad roads and a slow tractor and had quite a bit of dragging up the ramp. It was a good craic, though. Environmentalists made it hard for folk to dip; no word of the poison they're putting in our drinking water, the government themselves 👍🍀

At the start the liquid was a white milky color! By the end it was a greenish color! Do you know why? If it was dirt from the sheep it would be a muddy brown color but it was a brighter green color! Was another chemical added to turn it that green color? It doesnt make a difference to me lol i was just curious! Lol But i will say i would be having a panic attack the entire time that guy was there bc i would be so scared the machine would break and my poor animals are stuck underwater bc thats the kinda luck i have! Just be aware that organophosphates can badly affect some people’s health. From the bit of research I did, I suspect it caused my dads muscular dystrophy. He used to plunge them under by hand (as did I 🤦‍♂️). It will never be proven though. So what I’m saying is respect it. Avoid any unnecessary contact, consider wearing a mask, leggings etc when moving them around the yard and back to the field. It won’t give you advance warning. Dippings a huge benefit but I also knew someone who couldn’t go near dipped sheep or he would be laid up for days 🤷‍♂️

@@sheepshepherd nah mate from experience in New Zealand of opening up a new plunge dip, the first year is a breeze, after that young sheep are dead easy, older ewes who have been through the dip before are not keen the next year, being used to it makes them more stubborn. But good on you, dipping is compulsory every year in NZ, and I’ve always been a fan of the plunge dip, it’s the only way to go, Pour ons and injections are as useless as tits on a bull
