Neil Crone is the most natural sounding voice for my favorite character hence he's my headcanon voice for him. And I'm so happy to hear his voice in the '2D reboot that shall remain nameless' again because it definitely made him sound middle-aged like in the Railway Series!

OK, I guarantee I'm the only person who thinks this, but as far as I'm concerned, the best person to voice Gordon was Kenji Utsumi, his original Japanese voice for the first 8 seasons. I like Alec Baldwin's voice for him, at least for Season 5, Keith Wickham and Neil Crone are excellent, I even enjoy Michael Angelis's HiT voice for him, but no-one compares to Kenji Utsumi. I love the deep, gruffy voice he gave Gordon. For me, that fits the character the best.

Honestly, it’s very weird. Especially with how many narrators and voice actors exist outside of English. I still like Keith Wickham‘s voice, but Neil Crone’s definitely is intriguing. A fun fact is that he would return as the voice of Gordon, in the US Dub, of, All Engines Go. Yes, that is not a joke, and he even used the same voice as in the movie. I never watched the Japanese Dub much, but they probably had it the best, due to the enthusiasm from all of the voice cast, and I really appreciate it.

If anyone is going to count a non-English voice actor, they'll probably be a Japanese actor. That's the most common foreign version to start with...

It's not every day I see someone bring up the Japanese VAs. But it's kinda funny to hear Recoome (DBZ)'s voice coming out of Gordon. 😆 Despite his mouth not moving. And don't forget Gordon's second Japanese VA, Kenta Miyake, who also voiced Vector the Crocodile, Muhammad Avdol, Shockwave (TF: Prime), and All Might.

My favourite voices for Gordon are definitely Keith Wickham and Neil Crone. My second favourites are Michael Angelis and George Carlin. And the fact that Neil returned to voice Gordon again in All Engines Go surprised me. Great ranking on Gordon's voices right there! Maybe other characters like Edward or Henry or the Fat Controller will get their voices ranked in the future.

Oh man Neil Crone killed it as Gordon and since I wish that the model series had voice acting before the magic railroad voice actors took over with then I'd say that Gordon being voiced by Ian Abercrombie who could predict Snowball from BFDI's voice by doing Snowball from BFDI's voice with a British accent before Snowball from BFDI or BFDI in general even existed would be key perfection.

Gordon is somehow a character that I've come to appreciate more over time. When I was younger, Gordon was a character that didn't really interest me. After Toby, he was my least favorite character from the “Steam Team”. The only Gordon episodes I really liked as a child were “Thomas and Gordon”, “The trouble with mud” and “Gordon takes charge”. I had no idea about the RWS books. It wasn't until I watched The Unlucky Tug‘s video about Gordon and saw what a big journey he had in the books. I started to like Gordon more. After thinking about how Gordon was written in S1-4 and S7-S21, Gordon became one of my favorite characters. His relationships with Edward, Henry, Percy, Thomas and Spencer are all great. He is definitely the best part of the RWS, “The Hit era”/“New series” and “Sharon Miller era”. And out of the first 21 seasons it only had ONE bad episode which was its season 12 episode.

I believe Jeremey Clarkson from BBC's Top Gear, would fit PERFECTLY for a famous British celebrity voice for Gordon. When listening to Clarkson Rage out Richard Hammonds last name in Top Gear, I could imagine hearing him do bits of rage dialogue for Gordon in some of the CGI movies, like Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure.

It is ridiculous that you put Baldwin in last, rare Sean L. I’m glad you like Robin Smith, he’s a great narrator, but I feel like he only works for the DVDs and PC Games. Growing up here in the US Carlin is my top pick…I mean he does so many different voices and is quite consistent…that is not easy…Ringo was ok but his best voice was Diesel…the US CGI is my second pick…yes he sounds like Sir Toppam but this also reflects his big ego thinking he is the most important engine on the line…bad writing and that awful book misdefining everything ruined the series but otherwise those are my top 2
