One downside. You tell a client it's going to take 10 days, you present the project in 7 days they could think you've not spent the time you should. They may also ask for a reaction in the fee as they are paying for your time as well as your expertise

That has never happened to me. If your work hits the mark, the brief, and you can demonstrate how it solves the problems, the client will be all too happy.

@SatoriGraphics It's always been a common practice in many service industries. Often called managing or exceeding expectations. When I first started working in the 1970s, we were instructed to tell clients we'd be expecting delivery of goods 3 days after the actual date. Then, to inform the customer their goods had been placed on the priority list and would be ready early
