I've been done with school for four years now, and I'm still traumatized. Group projects are the devil. Inevitably, one person ends up doing 80% of the work.

Oh, I laughed so hard! "I don't wanna be in charge! STARES into the camera!" "Where is Rachel? ...crickets". This is hilarious and a great representation of these absurd group projects at uni where they put together the oddest sampling of humanity and expected them to be productive.

I feel like the only reasons group projects still exist is because professors want their students to feel the pain they went through when they had to do group projects during their college time. A vicious cycle lol

Group projects always seemed pointless to me. I've never felt they create collaborative teams, and they're inherently unfair unless there's a rubric for weighting individual marks according to input.

I remember the worst group project of my life. No one but me wanted to get it done. One of the girls was *mean*. I could never get anyone to meet up with me and we had to write an essay together! Then mean girl went on vacation in the middle of the project. not sure how that happened but she did. She never sent me her part of the essay and it was down to me to print the essay so I printed it out and headed to the school (I lived off campus). I get a text on the way "you added Rachel's part right?" And I'm like no??? Homegirl didn't give me it. I arrive in class which was on the second floor above the computer lab. We had a huge window. I get to class and the group is scrambling with Rachel finally returned. She accuses me of sabotaging her when I didn't even get her part of the essay. So in the middle of class they all rush down to the computer lab. The professor is like "uh why is your group doing that?" I explain. He says "watch the show" we all watch out the big window while they attempt to fix everything. It was so weird. And in the end the printed an unedited version of the essay. Just a mess. At least he had us fill out forms rating our group mates and leaving comments. I was so stressed I got such and took a break for awhile. Group projects are evil.

group projects are the bane of my existence. i remember in the 6th grade, we had to do this week of full day presentations about ancient civilizations and of course i was put in the group with everyone who literally could not care less, so i was appointed the leader. we were able to wear costumes and bring food that was connected to your civilization. on the day of the presentation, after i had already made 15 of the 20 slides, multiple of the people in our group didn’t show up. then of the people who did, only one person besides me wanted to present THEIR slides. so i did absolutely everything. i had made a kahoot, that i couldn’t log into because it was on the account of a girl who wasn’t there. AND my teacher had the stomach flu and left early so basically we didn’t do shit for the rest of the day and i left early. it was the worst day of elementary school ever, and ever since then i ask to do a solo project.

For everyone asking why teachers do group projects in college: its bc its painfully awkward to teach a room full of students who dont interact and the discussions suck. Group projects give the teacher a break and allow the class to be less awkward the more the students interact. I HATED them as a student but as a teacher, started to completely get it😂

Worst group project ever, the class was open to everyone. People that needed a good grade and people from Bachelors to Masters who only needed attendance. I was so glad I only needed the attendance and was in my last semester. I did my work and then I could just lean back and watch the shitshow unfold. Absolutely beautiful.

Marvelous, Mary! I love your roleplays they're so hilarious, absurdly realistic, and still relaxing to boot. I have multiple fan fictions in my mind about you personally. In one reality of the multiverse you get your start as a stand up comedian and actress and land a casting on SNL. Then blow up to star in scripted tv series and film and eventually get your own one woman sketch comedy talk show, like Carol Bernette. You win multiple Emmy's for acting, writing, producing and eventually get an Oscar for starring in an emotionally charged serious film role. All while still mowing your own lawn and eating tomatoes sandwiches. 😁 In another imaginative storyline you're an ex CIA or Area 51 agent... but I'll tell you about that later

I'm ashamed to admit that I'm was one of these people for one of my classes. It was my psych 101 and our final project was the psychology of conspiracy theorists. I woke late and didnt get to class until halfway through the presentation. I ran into the class with tinfoil on my head pretending to be one of them like it was a skit for the presentation. My partners god bless them must have been in improv because they played it off perfect and we finished the presentation. Got an A if I recall correctly.
