OH NO! WE FORGOT SNOVER AND ABOMASNOW! Well the plan is to eventually combine all of these videos in one new video, so we'll be sure to include them there. As well as Bronzong, the Steel type we missed in the Steel type video. So Snover and Abomasnow are pine trees, likely from the Taiga forest in the far north, covered in snow. Abomasnow also takes inspiration from the Abominable snowman.... just like.... Crabominable... ... I dont feel that bad about it though, Game Freak forgot to include more than 1 fire type Pokemon in Diamond and Pearl.

Kyurem's ice type also comes from the fact that cold = absence of energy. Since Reshiram and Zekrom have a furnace/generator in their tails respectively, and therefore represent heat/electrical energy, it makes sense that Kyurem is the absence of energy, as it is the empty husk left behind when the original dragon split.

wait, isn't there a training method of training (related to boxing) at higher altitude locations so that their lungs get used to the thinner air, therefore making it easier to have high stamina down in normal altitudes? Could this be another explanation as to why crabrawler would be up in the mountains along with reaching their #1 status?
@Predalien3001

I read Kyle's comment elsewhere with a great theory that would be so cool to be true Make It a Rocky reference Crabrawler failed the Rocky pre Drago fight training and get lost in the Russian mountains. Have a new branch evolution in which it succeeds Rocky training or keeps failing them. I for example suggests Trade the crab with a chicken and call it Adrienmant With an ability that is like sturdy but two times powerful meaning at least 2 attacks resistance.

fun fact: ice type is the third best offensive type in the games based on total type coverage (meaning they can hit a lot of types and factoring in type effectiveness) second? well, second to ground. but it comes with a tradeoff: Ice is the most fragile type, being only able to resist itself. so to simply put: Literal glass canon. My calculation for this btw: 18 + ( number of super effective types) - ( number of inneffective types x 0.5) - ( immune types) Edit: correction, ice is the 3rd best type coverage type. Tied with fire, behind rock and ground (in that order)

@Roxie, The Poison Type Gym Leader. Dinosaurs are members of the clade Dinosauria, which includes most typical dinosaurs we think of, such as the t-rex, sauropods, stegosaurus, velociraptors, and modern day birds. Dinosaurs are a subcategory of Archosaurs, which also include crocodiles and pterosaurs. This makes crocodiles the closest living relatives to birds. While plesiosaurs aren't archosaurs per se, they are thought to be more closely related to archosaurs than lepidosaurs (snakes and lizards). Reptile taxonomy is a bit fuzzy at times, but the classification of dinosaurs are fairly well defined.

I've always interpreted the reason that Cloyster is Ice type as being that it was supposed to add to the illusion of Cloyster's shell being super hard, adding an extra type to show how far it has come from being a weak little Shellder, and since Steel hadn't introduced at that point, they used Ice, presumably cos it seemed thematically appropriate (Just look at Lapras and its hard shell). Though that brings into question why they used Ice rather than, say, Rock, which actually has resistances to things other than itself and is based around the mons being rock hard. And if you're thinking that its because they already had the Omanyte and Kabuto lines, Gen I didn't care about over using dual types; just look at Rock/Ground, Grass/Poison, Normal/Flying, Water/Psychic or even Cloyster's current typing of Water/Ice which is also shared by Dewgong and Lapras

Wholesome I think normal in pokemon moves means like generic or basic which makes sense because most of the normal moves are just things creatures just do naturally or at least the first category of normal moves things like scratch, tackle, slam, etc. ( honestly bite and crunch should have also been normal type). Then there is there the if it doesn't match the properties of any other type then it defaults to normal these are things like substitute(honestly due to the deceiving nature of dark types this move probably would have made sense to be dark but I'm not game freak), wish(why isn't it a fairy type move?), swords dance, double team, morning sun (for some strange reason even though every other sun based move is fire or grass), swagger etc. As for the actual pokemon IDK what normal is supposed to mean. That would make an interesting video trying to define normal and why they have that typing.
