I got married last month. This was exactly the same thing I told my bride. I asked her that both of us should keep it simple. Remove all unnecessary rituals. Go for court marriage. Only thing was that they are financially good. She never told her parents saying that they will be hurt. So much money was spent from both sides. And yes, people still had issues. Parents from both sides still had issues. Indian marriages are meant to create chaos. I hope my generation becomes wiser.
