For issue 296 you say "Still got the OG Spy vs Spy guy" but Prohias had already stopped drawing it by this time. You can tell by the sig who actually is doing it. At that point in 1990 it was Bob Clarke (art) and Don Edwing (story).

This is hitting me right where I live... growing up in the 80s, MAD was essential reading. Honestly, I read and obsessed about MAD earlier than any other comic magazine. Didn't get most of the jokes, probably, but still loved it. I was pretty much out of buying it at this point, though (would have been about 18 or 19). If you ever want to go BACKWARDS into the earlier 80s, I'm all in!

“Throw Momma From the Train” is a parody of a comic strip I barely remember called “Momma”. So that’s like a very simple gag that writes itself. Edit: Guys, I just looked it up and that shit ran for 46 years.

I was in middle school when New Kids were going in '90 and i never understood the boy band obsession lol. i remember a few of these MAD issues, i think i got them for the art but i definitely didn't get a lot of the joke references at that time.
