Actually the reason why the Rolex Submariner was used in the earlier bond films, is because in the James Bond novels, Ian Fleming has James Bond wearing a Rolex. He actually words and oyster perpetual his first Rolex appearances in 1954, the same year the Rolex submariner was released to the public. However, he does not wear any watch that’s mentioned in Casino Royale. And the 1967 Casino Royale film is actually a spoof.

I did possess a 'tag hoyer' and a rolex both of which i liked the dial and watch enough to get an expensive time piece as my previous watches were swatches and ironman/triathalon. but wasn't really interested in the seller telling me which was in a film, does the actor still use it?

Funnily enough, MAMACOO's replicas are perfect for people who can actually afford a luxury watch. Because in those social circles, it wouldn't matter and everybody would just assume it's real.
