Every Jojo's Part Ranked From WORST to BEST I Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is a series that has been around for an unbelievable amount of time, having started all the way back in 1987. Part of the reason it’s been around so long is not only the author Hirohiko Araki’s unwillingness to age but also his unwillingness to keep things the same. For those of you who don’t know, Jojo’s is a story that spans 9 different parts with each part having a new protagonist, new set of characters, new location, and almost new everything. Today I am going to rank all of these parts from my least favorite to my personal favorite in numerical order. Note that this is all my personal opinion and if you have a different opinion don’t panic. Instead comment down below what your personal rankings of all of the Jojo’s parts. Before we get to the ranking I want to note there will be light spoilers for the series as a whole except for a certain part where there will be heavy spoilers but don’t worry I will provide you with a suitable warning ahead of time and a timestamp to skip on screen. With that out of the way, let's rank some Jojo’s parts.

I haven't read the manga but I would rank parts 1 through 6 as follows: 1. Stone Ocean 2. Diamond is Unbreakable 3. Golden Wind 4. Stardust Crusaders 5. Battle Tendency 6. Phantom Blood Part 4 and 5 can switch places, I think they're as incredible as each other

My ranking: 1- SBR (Masterpiece. I didn't notice any flaws, though I'm sure they exist. Probably just minor ones though.) 2- Jojolion (Also masterpiece but SBR had a better plot and villain) 3- DIU (Similar to Part 3 but with a better plot and better "filler" arcs. Kira was also a great villain, so bonus points.) 4- Stardust Crusaders (main cast was by far the best of any other part. One massive flaw though: about half of the episodes can reasonably be considered filler because of how little they affect the plot, which was already very basic as is.) 5- Stone Ocean (I liked the main cast a little more than Part 5's, and the entire 2nd half with Pucci and the universe reset was crazy. 1st half was quite boring though.) 6- Golden Wind (The only 3 main cast members I cared about died, and the other 3 weren't interesting enough to carry the rest for me. Diavolo and the final fight as a whole both felt underwhelming too. Excellent plot though.) 7- Battle Tendency (I love Jojo, Caesar and the pillar men but the rest was a snooze fest) 8- Jojolands (First chapter alone has proven to be more interesting and captivating than anything Part 1 showed me.) 9- Phantom Blood (too simple, too basic, nothing particularly interesting about it. Jonathan's death was cool I guess.)

Personally, I loved part 6. I agree that the prison setting couldve been used better but it’s grown on me overtime but I wish he used it in a way similar to how morioh is used in both pts 4 and 8, with the setting, feeling as much of a part of the story as the characters, since both StoneOcean and parts four and eight have such restrained settings. I love all the characters and their motivations. Pucci is my fav villain in the whole series also. I totally get the criticism though and you’re of course entitled to your own opinion🤗

Honestly, this is such a good list. The way you explain why each part was placed made so much sense, even though I disagree with some of your takes. People who actually have read Jojolion ranks it lower because of the Wonder of U arc, mainly because it was drawn out, and sidelined the characters. I personally didn't like how they did that, but it made sense with the context of the arc. It was an endless calamity that was happening, and with the way Wonder of U works, you really did have to sacrifice a bunch of people, even if they didn't have a lot of panel time. I'd say the two biggest flaws of Jojolion is that some of the characters weren't used enough, and the Radio Gaga arc being at the end was kinda meh. That being said, I also rank Part 8 at #1 (Part 4 rivals it heavily, though). And it's one of the parts that actually made me wish it could continue forever.

Phantom Blood All I’m gonna elaborate is I watched Golden Wind when I came out, so I liked it better than the manga and Jojolion had such a great story and felt really deep but was really inconsistent. 8. Part 1, Phantom Blood, I actually liked this part but the only issue I have with it is the really really boring fights and the introduction of characters that I don't think anyone cares about 7. Part 6, Stone Ocean, I also really like this part however the side villains are just awful, situational and boring, villain is S tier and side cast is meh except weather report 6. Part 4, Diamond is Unbreakable, this part gets very good at the 2nd half but the first half is just so boring I barely got through with it 5. Part 2, Battle Tendency, I started to love jojos at this part, very emotional, side cast is very good and the villains are also, it only misses stands that make jojo peak 4. Part 5, Golden Wind, an extremely good part, every arc is at least good 3. Part 8, Jojolion, a very inconsistent but peak part, I loved the plot and I enjoyed the part a lot 2. Part 3, Stardust Crusaders, best animated part, peak side cast, peak villain and peak enjoyment, I binged through the egypt part I liked it a lot 1. Part 7, Steel Ball Run, ironically, I dropped jojo for 2 years because of the first few sbr chapters but then picked it up again and oh boy was it peak I love JoJo.

I bet you were elated when the Part 6 anime was announced, because it means we're one step away from Part 7... Personal ranking from best to least best: 7, 2, 4, 1, 5, 8, 6, 3. To elaborate the bottom 3: Part 8 has the best first half of any part, but then Araki forgets he's writing in the mystery genre and devolves into a safe formula. Part 6 has a great beginning, a good end, and a really shit middle, we're talking a series low here. Whereas 80% of part 3 is just really damn slow, the stands are understandably very basic, Jotaro has one personality trait, same with DIO.

Oh haha, on your other JoJo’s video I asked how would you rank the arcs and now this video pops up. I’m only on part 3, I’m a few volumes in but I love this group. My only issues is Joseph feels like a totally different character than he is in part 2, you could say that’s because he’s older, but he’s so different. And my other issue is Jotaro is powerful for absolutely no reason, he’s equally capable as Joseph, despite having absolutely no training. He’s immediately unbelievable with his stand despite even knowing what it was until 5 minutes ago.

Is it a stereotype to both hate stone ocean and love part 4? I get it, Kira is undoubtably the best villain in all of Jojos, but better than part 5? One good villain doesn’t erase all the bad side villains in pt4, nor does it make Josuke interesting in the slightest. Josuke is constantly outshined by all the core side characters in terms of entertainment value and, on top of that, only ever feels like a badass character because Jotoro is constantly being nerfed. I’m convinced that a version of part 4 with Jotoro as the main protagonist would have been a much more entertaining series with a more Sherlock Holmes mysterious tone, but instead we get Josuke dicking around with Okuyasu while Kira does fun (but also disturbing) Kira things. Don’t even get me started on the stone ocean slander. It’s not good, but it’s definitely not worse than phantom blood. Jolyne is far and away one of the better jojo protagonists with interesting goals and motivations, only really being outclassed by Johnny, gappy, and, of course, Joseph. Pucci is on the better side of Jojos villains (due in large part because of DIO), and the side characters in of themselves aren’t bad. The major criticism for Stone ocean is the fights, the relationship between the jobros (or jogirls? Jopeople?), and pucci not really having a personality outside of his relationship to DIO. Otherwise it’s a perfectly average jojo part.

Jojolion doesn't make sense. The story ended without resolving most most plot points. Most characters are introduced and doesn't do anything in the part. Toru just came to the story without any build up and his relationship with yasuho are sudden and have no build up. Araki art doesn't have proportion in part 8. Jojolion suck. It's just my opinion.

I don't really like stone ocean that much either but below phantom blood is pretty crazy. Anyway I thought the rest was pretty fair, I haven't read part 8 so I can't comment on it but 7, 4, and 5 would be higher up on my list as well. I think my order would be 1st. SBR 2nd. GW 3rd. DIU So, pretty much the same except part 5 and 4 are swapped. Besides that, I'd probably put stardust crusaders and stone ocean above the hamon parts.

Yeah, I know Jojolion being the least favorite is a hot take, but I couldn't stand reading it, bro. I read through the first, what, 15-20 chapters and I just couldn't care. It was just really awkward sex joke and really uncomfortable scenario after another. I just didn't care to read the rest of it genuinely, so I read a summary of the story. And yeah, I don't think I woulda liked the rest of it all that much with how many automatic Stands there are. Soft & Wet and Wonder of U are straight up fire though, it's just a shame that both their users are kinda meh to me. Part of me wanted to rank Stardust lower because of how much filler there is, but honestly, given I didn't see as much issues with it than, say, Battle Tendency (Kars not being as interesting as the GOAT Wamuu and Caesar just being overall awful). I judge a part by how good the fights are, who the JoBros were, and how good the antagonist was. The cast in Part 3 (save for Avdol) were all great and memorable, and are consistently referenced through the series, so they leave their impact.

Honestly this ranking made me so mad but I gotta respect your opinion I guess. Though what I don’t get is: -your hate for stone ocean -you praise for jojolion -how sbr< jojolion And much more but they’re kinda just tiny nitpicks. First of all, calling the cast (including Jolyne) uncompelling seems so damn ridiculous 😭… you can hate a character archetype or their personality but when handled or written well, they will be compelling(or enough to br engaging), especially since Jolyne is the first jojo to have a character arc. Your criticisms for stone ocean being set in a prison and “araki’s creativity running out” sounds like complaints that you just stole from other essay KZbinrs without thinking twice about it- they’re flawed too because there’s no proof Araki was running out of creativity during the serialisation of stone ocean, and using the “prison makes it boring!” Argument is so lackluster because in no way is the prison making the story less boring and actually makes jolynes journey more challenging with the presence of armed prison guards. Plus they leave the prison during the second part. Now I totally agree with your points for jojolion, but I found it really fishy that you didn’t talk about the arcs after that “josukes true identity” arc. I found it even more strange how you didn’t even talk about tooru despite having a wou animation as the introduction to your explanation of jojolion. Why did you only talk about the highs of jojolion (aka the first half)? And not the lows? (Time inconsistencies, characters acting out of character, plot holes) How did you even forget about this? They’re so prominent in the part that you can’t even miss them and actually leave you confused. I have actually come around on Jolyne recently. I don't think anymore that she is a poorly written character, in fact I think that she is the third best written Jojo, behind Johnny and Gappy. Though I still stand by everything else I said about Stone Ocean. The entire cast (excluding Foo Fighters) is just okay in my opinion. None of them are bad but none of them are good either. Especially compared to how well Araki had gotten at writing a group dynamic in Part 4 and 5, especially now with how well he's been writing The JOJOLANDS cast. I still stand by the prison being a bad set piece for the part. It feels as if Araki just threw the cast in there with no prior thinking as to how to make it at least somewhat of an interesting location. I guess saying that Araki running out of ideas is an overused choice of words. It's more that it felt like Araki couldn't use interesting ideas because he had tied himself down too much, which is why he reset the universe in Part 7. Stone Ocean suffers heavily I feel because of this. As for the later parts of Stone Ocean, I think that it is definitely an improvement, but I still didn't find the setting interesting. As for Jojolion, I made a whole separate video where I go over and defend my takes here on my channel so go watch that if you want to know more. As for why I rank it above SBR, I just enjoy reading it more. I have no complaints for SBR, it is the perfect Jojo part in my opinion but I think that the highs of Jojolion push it to be #1 in my opinion.

My ranking (note, I haven't read part 8 to 9 yet) 7) golden wind (I really really really don't like part 5. Rest of the parts just aint my cup of tea but for part 5 I really hate it. There r many reasons why but the main one is because I don't like giorno. Don't attack me. We all have opinions, this is mine. I'd u disagree good for u but for me, it's a 2/10) 6)stardust crusaders (it's pretty long and I feel alot of it is filler. However stardust crusaders does have a great ending fight and has one of the best fights in the series! It's just wayy too long but overall I like it! A easy 6/10) 5)phantom blood (I actually really like phantom blood. It's a short but sweet story. It's not amazing but it's a pretty midiocure story. Now is phantom blood objectively better than stardust? Nah but I just enjoy phantom blood more id give it a 6.5/10) 4) battle tendancy (similar to battle tendancy with hamon although I really liked Joseph! Joseph used to be one of my favourite joestars ever with his entertaining personality and his wits for me, part 2 is always a 7/10) 3) Diamond is unbreakable (one of the best parts in JoJo ever! A good balance between the side characters and the main character! I love character in part 4 with okuyasu being one of the best characters coming out of part 4. Jotaro also is given more depth with him being a mentor character instead of being mentored. Overall a really great part and a 7.6/10) 2) stone ocean (stone ocean used to be my favourite part ever. I couldn't stop talking about it when I finished reading it. Yes, reading it. Im one of the 2 people in the world who actually read part 6 and didn't speed thru it. Jolyne's character as a whole is amazing with her going thru a great arc. Part 6 by all means isn't perfect and has flaws but it's one of the best parts ever in jojos. Really underrated in my opinion. That's why personally I feel that the anime adaptation of part 6 is actually pretty bad ngl. This isn't because like "oh I read the manga so everything isn't as good as it" but I really feel stone ocean had a bad release schedule and not so good adaptation. For example, emporio beating down pucci didn't need to be jotaro's theme. That really made no sense why did they do it. But overall, stone ocean is a nice 8.7/10 for me) 1)steel ball run (duhhhhh ofc sbr is number 1 why wouldn't it be. For starters, Johnny is just jolyne but better by a land slide. Jolyne starts out as not the best in part 6 but it's not shown as much as Johnny in part 7. Part 7 is just peak manga and anime. Is part 7 flawless? No absolutely not but it's really an amazing piece of fiction. Johnny and gyro felt like real characters interacting. From opponents to friends, it's a well written series! Plus, we got best waifu gyro from sbr! Easily a 9.5/10)
