Jojolion isn’t as hyped up because I think it’s a rather non-traditional part. But it is definitely a really fun and fascinating read that delivers on what Jojo fans love. It’s also possibly the weirdest and funniest part in my opinion, and it’s tied for my favorite against another part.

I believe that Fugo is a character that people love purely due to how little screen time he got and what potential he could’ve had. Plus he has a light novel spinoff that takes place post Part 5 that’s pretty good so a lot of people who have checked that out also probably found a new love for Fugo through his characterisation in it.

I would agree with Fugo fans liking Fugo because of the light novel because I am one of those. When I read part 5 I liked fugo a bit but the light novel did so much for his character but sadly it’s not canon.

@@ReadTheRoomDarkSage In western terms no not really. But canon isn’t really a thing that Japan cares about. It was also released before the anime and so it may contradict some things that the anime adaptation might’ve added. The light novel wasn’t written by Araki but it along with two other light novel won a competition and was fully published with some of his illustrations of the characters and stands. The Novel is called “Purple Haze Feedback”.

I’m an anime only so I can only rank parts 1-6, but my order is: 1. Golden Wind / Vento Aureo (best stands for the most part, most of the best fights, some of my favorite characters, Mafia theme, favorite setting, ost) 2. Battle Tendency (favorite Joestar, Pillar Men, Lisa Lisa, different locations, great fights) 3. Stardust Crusaders (favorite villain in DIO, my favorite Joestar, my second favorite Joestar, favorite main Joestar theme, intro to stands/stand battles, Jotaro vs Darby, Polnareff & Iggy vs Vanilla Ice, Iggy vs Pet Shop, Jotaro vs DIO) 4. Diamond Is Unbreakable (second but arguably my favorite villain in Kira, some of my favorite stands, some of my favorite characters) 5. Stone Ocean 6. Phantom Blood I’ve honestly been surprised to learn that most of the JoJo fandom seems to dislike part 5 and I’ve wondered why

Damn, I really wrote a whole ass essay, but you asked for ranking, so here we go. (no spoilers) (I've read all manga and watched as much anime as there is so this is just a quick disclaimer: In my ranking I rather consider the anime, because I just cannot omit how the animation quality and ost elevate the experience) 0. part 9 A bit of a honorable mention and it's probably recency bias but I really like it so far. Imo it has the best 1st chapter of all parts and I really like the protag and the main cast overall. 1. part 8 The mystery aspect is really satisfying as it unravels and what it leads to is what I consider the best arc in the entire series ("It all started with flying fish" [iykyk]) After that it kinda drops but still is very good. There are very many characters and some of them go pretty unutilized, but the ones who are utilized are so great OH BOY! 2. part 7 Gyro is my favourite Jojo character. Funny valentine and Johnny, and majority of the cast overall, are also top tier. It's a deep and emotional story, I love it! 3. part 5 (man do I get roasted for this take all the time) best animation, best ost, best fights, some of my favourite stands. Yeah Giorno is on the weaker side as a protag, but I really like the rest of the crew. I also really like la squaddra and their entire plot. Diavolo as a villain is missed potential in my opinion. He's really mysterious and menacing in the beginning and when he fights Bucciarati in Venice, but later it really drops. However it didin't disrupt much of my enjoyment of the part. 4. part 4 Josuke is probably my favourite protag of the original universe. relatable and badass at the same time. I feel like Jotaro works much better as a mentor character than a protag. Kira is also a really good villain. I like majority of the cast too (Rohan

Great list! I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts though I think our list would be vasally different. As right out the gate: S- Tier: Golden Wind: I personally don't accept criticism on the subject.😂🤭 I've always loved gangster/mafia found family type stories, and this just checks the entire list. I literally love the entire gang and quite attached to them. This part is also a comfort because I love imagining hanging out with them. Also Bruno Buccarati. I tried reading the manga since it's my fav Part but the anime is so good, it makes it better. PS: This part is the equalivant of 'fanfic makes it all better.' 🥰 Steel Ball Run: I just finished the other day. I really love the story. I wanna go back and read it again. Plus Gyro Zeppli is now my favorite JBro after Bruno Buccarati. Also I LOVE the art! Shoutout as studying the art for this part added a few things to my arsenal. 😊 A-Tier: Part 3 and 4. Jotaro is probably my fav Joestar. Giorno being second. And Johnny from Part 7 has probably shot up to 3rd. Rohan Kishibe, however much he disliked Josuke, is my 3rd fav Jbro. Plus have you've seen the Thus Spoke Rohan Jdrama series? I've seen a bit of S1 but they could not have pick a better actor. B-Tier: Part 1. I don't really like the 80s art style but I do like Jonathan and Dio. Plus vampires. C-Tier: Part 2: The only reason I got through this Part was the plot driven by the Pillarman. Kars is my 2nd fav favorite villan after Dio. I know Joseph is popular but he's one of my least fav Joestar. I liked him better in Part 3 than 2 actually. D-Tier: Part 6 : -sigh- 😓I ended up skipping entire episodes as I couldn't take it anymore. After episode 9 or so if Anasui wasn't in it, I didn't watch it. Except the Dio flashbacks...I watched that and Weather Reports backstory! 😆 Basically I probably watched enough to get the overal point. But that ending though... Just start Part 8 and I'm loving the new Joestar right now.

I know you don't care but these are the real reasons why most people don't like part 6 the steps to achieving heaven are too contrived. Annasui might be the worst character in JoJo and he's always there. Dio's sons contradict the theme of inherent righteousness in the Joestar bloodline. The Maximum security arc has one great fight and 2 dog shit fights. Not to mention Limp Bizkit, Manhattan Transfer, Sky High, etc. Whitesnake's main power is underutilized when Araki could've come up with creative ways for him to achieve heaven by combining other people's stand powers. Instead Whitesnake is always coming up with some convenient new thing he can steal, more another part 8 stand before Araki fumbled that one too. I wanna go on but my break is up

@@onsnoreleave8674 Ok let me debunk this real quick: 1- We're talking about a vampire who spent over a hundred years inside a coffin testing stuff with Jonathan's body, of course he would have to come up with something 2- Anasui isn't always in the part and there's far worse characters in the series 3- That's why they're DIO's sons, they're half DIO half Jonathan, Rikiel being the closest to Jonathan's personality 4- I bet you're one of those people who disconnected their brain during the Dragon's Dream fight. And Yo-Yo Ma, although being the worst fight in the part, it's still quite good and makes us feel confused at first about what ability he has 5- All those fights you mentioned are hella good, especially Sky High and Manhattan Transfer 6- Whitesnake doesn't come up with new stuff exactly, it's just that Pucci knows its abilities are the Melt your Heart illusion goop and the DISC manipulation and he uses them in extremely creative ways no other villain has ever done before

My ranking is Parts 7 and 8 (the best written and the one i had the most fun reading, respectively) Parts 6 and 4 (just overall solid, even with some boring parts here and there) Part 3 (Pretty standard Jojo quality, i'd say) Part 9 (even tho it's just started, i already quite like it, and it's probably only going up from here) Part 1 (I don't love part 1 necessarily, but i still like it more than the other two-) Part 5 (used to be my least favorite, but some very epic fights and moments, along with some of the funniest memes and cool characters now and then save it, even with all the whack decisions and Arakis irl baggage affecting the quality.... The Fugo issue and GER being so damn stupid as it is, being perfect examples lol) Part 2...... Yeah...... I literally forget it exists, all the time. Part 2 has one of the greatest jojo OST's, the greatest hamon usage, the most menacing villains (tied with Pucci)- the pillar men and many people's favorite Joestar- Joseph. Though maybe if part 1 was adapted better (animating everything that was in the manga and having better animation) I could see it being over part 2.

@@kwipxd Everything from the designs of Jodio having Giorno like themes with his hair, the way his earings say JO and a star. The heart for part 5-6 themes on Jodio’s hoodie. The triangles that are in parts 1-2 pointing on the heart, with wings. Paco’s Hustle is a unique power and he reminds me of a Pillar Man the most. Dragona being inherently gender ambiguous with a thematic power of Smooth Operators being able to sculpt their body. Tsurugi is insanely cool and represents Doppio to me with Matte Kudasai. The fact you see R**** is INSANE. The fights feel a lot like a mix of part 5’s fast pace brutally violent fights and part 8’s niche stands. Jodio in the latest chapter when he attacks with November Rain looks like Tusk for each individual rock. I could elaborate further on story themes too if you want but for me the art and faces too are among the best Araki has ever done period. His art feels like a crazy good Marvel comic. His hatching and background work have levelled up beyond Part 7 which had some of my favorite environmental storytelling. These are some of THE FEW reasons I currently consider it my favorite.
