It's nice isn't it, but not allowed in Europe because it's too wide to be a 'motorcycle'. Not sure if we can get a legislative change, or if a narrower version is practical to get this or something a lot like it on the road. I like the optimism! I think with the current culture of big SUVs and pickups, plus the Aptera only seating 2 but being as wide as a pickup it’s an uphill battle for mass appeal. BUT, for all the EV critics who point to, charging infrastructure, battery mining, range anxiety, the grid can’t handle EVs, they’re too heavy. Aptera goes hard against all of that.

@@jonathonalsop2120 I'd agree about the concern regarding the appeal of a two-seater if it didn't have that rear storage space. This is in my opinion is as revolutionary as the engineering itself. Having said that, I'm somewhat concerned that they aren't really talking much about how it is being developed along with all of the other progress being made. I've had my order in along with buying some stock for years , but would hesitate to actually take delivery without a well developed plan to keep the car maintained. I absolutely love the Aptera design! The sleek, aerodynamic shape is so futuristic and functional. I haven’t had the chance to get in one yet, but I imagine the unique entry/exit could be a bit tricky. However, with future iterations, I could see them expanding the passenger compartment slightly to make it more accessible and even improving the interior height. It would be amazing to see a 'van' version of the Aptera, maintaining that core design but offering even more space for passengers without losing the iconic look and efficiency. On top of that, I wonder if Aptera is exploring the inclusion of self-driving technology in future versions - it would be great to see them leading the charge in that area as well, combining sustainability with cutting-edge automation!

Great to see and hear Sandy's validation and accolades. Current investors should be encouraged, and I'd like to join when investment gets significant below the $50K floor it's at now. Three questions you guys may or may not be able to answer quite yet, maybe after your track testing is done: 1 - Is there anything that would preclude towing the Aptera behind another vehicle, ideally including a wired connector to synch braking and brake lights between the 2 vehicles. 2 - If the answer to #1 is "It will be possible." then, would it be possible for the Aptera to be charging while being towed? 3 - At what stage will you be able to speak to roll resistance while it is being towed? If no to any of the above, might it be considered for a future edition/configuration? My envisioned use-case is towing behind a camper or other BEV configured for camping.

@harriettanthony735219 күн бұрын
This writer has a part answer to the questions. One Chris said no on towing. Two, there was another, failed, trike that DID tow[a video was shown]. In sum, to tow anything, go buy a Rivian or a Scout. I would never tow with ANY trike, the geometry is all wrong

Future of automobiles, manufacturers need to learn from companies like Aptera. Current EV's need to trim the fat, reduce the excessive weight and costly production methods.

Steve, Chris, Sandy, Aptera, and Menro engineers, you’re doing a great job! I’ve been following for years and I’m excited about Aptera’s progress. I’d join in a heartbeat, but California is too expensive for me. If Aptera expands to the Midwest, I’d apply immediately. A few quick thoughts: High-pressure die casting for the frame seems like a solid approach, but make sure it fits your manufacturing needs based on volume. Consider using composites for added strength. Keep the steering wheel simple-remember KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid). I’m not a fan of the yoke design; lessons from Tesla and Toyota show it’s not ideal. The steering wheel should be adjustable for tilt and distance to ensure comfort, as Sandy seemed to struggle with it in the video. The rear hatch design should be shorter, to avoid damage in small collisions, like with shopping carts. I’m concerned about the lack of a rear crash member, but I understand it's too late to change that. A crash structure would be reassuring. I’m glad the solar glass is durable, but a protective film, like on smartphones, would help with longevity since glass can crack. Ensure thorough water leak testing-no one wants to deal with mold or extra weight from water. I’d love a 5-point harness option for those who want to use the Aptera for racing or weekend fun. The door panel gaps are still a question, but I’ll reserve judgment until it’s fully built. Overall, I’m impressed. Aptera could be a game-changer for solo commuters. I’m ready to contribute my third round of funding, as long as you maintain control and focus on building a functional, affordable vehicle. Keep pushing forward-don’t be like Tesla, do better!
