I've been a fan of Junji Ito's work for a long time now. I had read numerous of his works previously, but there were so many I had yet to touch. So when this idea popped into my head at the beginning of the year, I figured it was the perfect excuse to really dive into his catalog and experience the best and worst of what he has to offer. I started reading through all of his works at the beginning of the summer, and had planned to have this video out before the new Uzumaki anime aired... But let's just say reading over a hundred stories, summarizing them, recording, and editing took WAY longer than I originally expected. So while it's late, I hope you still enjoy! The purpose of this video from a viewer perspective is to get an idea of what Ito stories sound interesting to you. That way you know which stories to check out, and which to potentially avoid. Because I purposely made sure to leave out a lot of plot elements for most of them, so you can still be surprised once you read them yourself. That way you aren't completely spoiled going in. At the same time, a few of these stories were a bit hard to summarize without spoiling crucial aspects. So apologies that I couldn't find a way to leave out spoilers completely. Or if you're a completionist, this can act as a reading list of everything Ito's put out so you can dig up even his most obscure stories! Timecodes are provided in the description. I have a ton of videos planned for next year already, some of which will be larger projects like this one. So I appreciate your continued patience and support. If you want to see other videos like this one where I dive into a mangaka's entire catalog, be sure to comment which mangaka you'd like to see below! And while you're at it, be sure to let me know what your favorite Ito manga is, and why! Thanks so much for watching! 💜

I find it funny just how many times Junji Ito has made goofy autobiography manga of his own life in between his obvious dabbles of horror

Spooky be like: "Whatever Junji Ito work exists without my knowledge exists without my consent"

I'm super excited to watch and listen to the vid. Having watched some of your editing process for this vid I am excited to see how it all came together. I'm also worried that the reception of the Uzumaki Anime will mean none of Ito's works will be adapted again. I hope this isn't the case because Ito's artwork is incredible.

I wish i could read some of the un-translated stories they sound like they would be an interesting read. I always find myself intrigued with each story of horror from Junji Ito and how he can make me scared with the story and art. Thanks for this video I now want to give these stories another read and look around!!

Did you animate the sections of the manga yourself? You did a very good job this whole video is very well done

Thank you! Yep, I animated them all myself. Big part of the reason it took so long to get this one out.

There is nothing like ham, turkey, and some junji ito for my sides this Thanksgiving. Also, what a massive catalog of stuff I have yet to read and originally thought it was big already. xD

Agreed about the holes story (the mountain with people holes, i guess holes doesn't narrow it down enough with Ito). . . Should go into more details about some of these though. Id like to hear more.

Ive always preferred Tomie to Spirals. I think Tomie is a lot more interesting and has much more to say about the cycle of violence and society. Spirals is just a good story but doesnt have a lot of depth
