I still kinda wish they could have worked around the ability outright. On that first encounter they were able to subvert it just a little bit in one instance, by exploiting the limitation of Epitaph. But I guess it couldn't ever be anything reliable so it was never attempted again. Especially since he was onto it.

It's just fate. Like Diavolo fate is destroy a phone, what Diavolo have to do to make that happen without even known by anyone is by erasing the time. After erase the time the phone automatically got destroyed without Diavolo touching it. Other examples someone throw a ball, Diavolo just erase the time and the ball goes automatically to Diavolo hand without need to try to catch it. No it's a araki forgot moment its just you does not understand how king crimson actually works It was fated to happen though diavolo does not have to do anything like if a person was supposed to throw a rock it will still happen during time skip, if wind would blow some leaves it still happen during time skip even though wind does not even exist during time skip what diavolo sees is the projection of the future that would be happening if time was not erases yet still it happens to everyone- everything the same future regardless except diavolo he erases time nothing can exist during it except him everything disappears during time skip this he becomes immune to everything that includes fate as well He saw in epitaph that he will clean the room and escape through the window he has king crimson so it's possible to do withing 10 second thus he saw it in epitaph this means it was fated to happen the table the things in room were fates to be taken out of window because they are not diavolo or king crimson so they just follows their fated path even though the person himself who would do these things was diavolo yet they would follow their fated path

With epitaph technically doppios stand he can see 10 seconds into the future, he then essentially erases himself from those 10 seconds meaning whatever actions anyone was going to take they will always take and Diavolo is untouchable within those 10 seconds, so he can either run or get himself to the perfect position to attack at any point in those 10 seconds, everyone also forgets what happened during skipped time, so if i went to punch king crimson he knew I would do that, and he would erase time, I will still continue my actions of trying to punch him but he could run off or he could walk behind and punch a hole through me, my actions will always happen in skipped time even though Diavolo has left or moved

So when king crimson erases time, it literally erases everything upto 10 seconds nothing is left it's just a void and the people we see as viewer are just holograms projections by epitaph or maybe just a automatic/passive part of erasing time but with epitaph it makes sense that's why he can't touch them neither they can touch him during time erase because they don't exist in that time and it does not only applies to living beings it also counts everything and diavolo observes the holograms so he can know the position of his opponent when time begins anew and immediately attacks them without giving them a split second to react and the blood trick diavolo does during time erase is possible because the blood is a part of diavolo thus it means it can exist during time skip and can freely move without being bound by fate, he throws it infront of his opponent eyes so the moment time begins a new they would be instantly blinded the trick is not complicated at all it's just same as blinding them with your hand Though when time skip ends everyone are at their location they would be regardless of time skip Except diavolo who is free from the fate/future that epitaph shows him.
