i mean, 2021 and 2022 1:18 scaled cars, and motorbikes (Ducati and BMW) are super fun too but the year 2016 was the best in that

I think it was the last good year for technic. It has been going downhill ever since. Prices went up a lot, we lost b models, most sets are licensed merchandise, we lost motor upgradability, and so on. The comparison between the volvo and the material handler says it all.

The older the sets, the cheaper they were relative to the value they offered, largely due to inflation

I personally have upgraded my Heavy duty tow truck with the power funvtjons set. It ia fairly simple you just have to put a servo in the cabin where the steerin axle would be and a motor in the engine bay. It took me like 5 minutes to do. Highly recommend

Yeah the bucket wheel excavator was good. But mine (even though when I built it in 2018 and I was maybe 2-3 years under the age it said) it was plagued with many problems and the mechanical features somehow produced so much friction that the clutch gears made it nearly useless and when I replaced it with normal gears the xl motor stalled. Still a good set but now its going to be token apart soon.

You really should try to fix it. Technic axles and gears are very easy to squish and cause tension. Simply loosening a few things up can do the trick

In my opinion the 42053deserved the 3rd place and the helicopter the 5th because i think the Volvo is just really underrated and its got some great features overall

It’s a great excavator but I just think that the other sets have better mechanisms and features! And that just goes to show how good the sets were of this year! Even the lowest pullback sets were great!

For some of these sets I feel like they could be upgraded a bit like the bucket wheel loader I feel would be better if it was remotely controlled the Volvo excavator I think the size could be increased the tractor also could be remote controlled as well as size increased

I replaced the 2 two clutch gears in the bucket wheel excavator with one normal gear and it broke

Don’t replace with one gear replace with two. Each clutch requires its own gear
