Levi was the last of the old Scouts. His job was to rid the Titans of the fears of the new generation and he succeeded. Its bittersweet because ridding the world of Titans isn't the peace they hoped for; what created the Titans to begin with was the cycle of hate that is natant in humans and so even though their resolution (in both senses) was the end of war in the end the cycle repeats. At least the subordinates Levi took care of get to live their lives in peace.

0:57 DID YOU GUYS SEE THAT? Levi just parried attacks from a Jaw Titan. Let's ignore for a moment the sheer fact that shifters can lift hundreds of tons and Levi had to somehow achieve this without these attacks breaking his every bone on contact. But most of all, Jaw is the most agile titan with the greatest destructive capabilities. His claws can literally shred right through crystallized armor. Levi couldn't just block these attacks, he had to carefully redirect slashes away by catching them with his swords. AND HE DOES IT ALL MID-FLIGHT. That is peak Levi. I don't care what anybody else says, yeah, he may only have half a face and one operational arm, he was never this strong, this fast and this skilled. Levi is simply BROKEN!

god levi is so strong he dogs multiple titan shifters at his worst condition and only ever gets injured by titans when he goes to take the hit for other people (mikasa almost getting smacked by annie, connie almost getting eaten.)

Definitely not *peak* Levi, if you think about it he wasn't able to achieve this amount of agility before due to the older version of ODM gear. The new ODM gear allows him to maneuver faster and be more agile. Logically speaking, he was DEFINITELY nerfed from his injuries at this point, but if he wasn't injured... he can probably solo this mission and massacre everyone.

I initially could not understand why the writers decided to disable Levi, supposedly the coolest character in AOT. Now I understand, it shows the amount of sacrifice and tragedy humanity went through, and still kept fighting, all for peace. The point was never to idolise Levi but to let his character prove a point, and I admire the writers all the more for that.

Levi and Mikasa working together in that final scene was so insanely satisfying and truly the right way to end it all. They were a solid team through and through, and they did what they had to do to save humanity, while honoring their memories of the Eren they knew and loved. No one way would have felt totally right, but they knew what they had to do and carried out their final mission. :')

Seeing Levi crying at the end almost broke me. He was a true dedicated soldier who came from a place that everyone overlooked. It was a run down place that was so unsanitary which made him a clean freak. He had to see so many of his comrades die including his best friends in Hange and Erwin. You see the look on his face when Hange says not to stop them. I can see why so many people love Levi as a character.

​@hijikatastokley715 this isnt the case. Isayama has said in interviews that Levis overwhelming popularity and fan favourite status was intended when he created him. He said the fans were completely in sync with his vision for what he intended the character to being to the franchise. He exists for pure fan service, the fans are meant to go nuts every time he appears. But ultimately i guess he felt the finale had to focus on the three main characters that he started the story with rather than bringing Levi in snd having him solo everything and dave the day. Levi was always there to be used sparingly so the audience gets respite from all the death the titsns inflict on the humans, by having him completely wreck whatever the main threat is at the time
