Wow again, I had to binge watch the rest of your renditions. Another tune done with great precision. I know how good it feels when one is able to nail a song to full satisfaction, it feels fantastic!. I play for self enjoyment and to exercise my hands, from getting stiff, but it must be an even greater high to be able to play that way with others that are on the same wavelength. I have to say this is the best I've hear as far as Police and Sting covers. You got it ! Singer vocals with great range that is a rare gift. Great work! Can you tell how much I love the Police and music in general. Would love to hear your version of Fragile and LaBellaDameSonRegrets.

@@SoundofSting I will stay tuned. My favorite song, my family must be rotted from hearing me play that song every weekend. There are many ways to play it and I have yet to find a better way than the original, chord inversion, jazzy beat, bossa, samba, salsa, all work except rock I think. Something of a hobby of mine in my spare time, I try to find covers that I think are better than the original one. if ou can throw in a smooth jazzy beat in it even better. Sounds great! It would sound even better if the drummer would play a little louder and more enthousiastic though. Not saying he's a bad drummer, but I feel like that would give it more of the like Police touch.

Hi Sil. Thanks for chiming in! That's my style of playing drums. I agree I may not look like I am having fun but believe me, I am having the time of my life. Stewart Copeland is one of my biggest influences but he is a rock n roll drummer in all senses. He hits hard. I come from a jazz background and my technique is all about getting the most sound out of the least amount of energy. It doesn't look pretty but this method has allowed me to play drums as a professional for 45 years without any carpel tunnel syndrome, tendinitis, lower back issues, Shoulder issues or any body deteriorating issues caused from drumming. To add, this is not a Police tribute, it is a tribute to Sting. Sting had many great drummers on his albums and on the road, all with jazz/fusion roots - Omar Hakim, Manu Kache', Vinnie Colaiuta, etc.. I will conclude by saying, it's not necessary to hit hard just for the sake of hitting hard. All that matters is that you play well, produce a sound that is microphone friendly and create a great vibe for your band mates and the audience

Hank. Thanks for chiming in! Actually we recorded that live off the floor and video taped it at the same time. So what you are seeing is exactly you are hearing. Mike, the singer then went back into the studio and did all the back up vocals. It was a very low budget way of doing it. We had one rehearsal the week before and that's it. All the videos on the channel from this session were done the same way. Mike is amazing. His back up vocal parts are the same as what Sting did in the studio. We are called "Sound of Sting" for a reason. We are attempting to sound like the studio cuts. Sting did his own back up vocals and in order for us to sound like the album cuts, Mike did the same. On our live shows, we are playing live along with the back up tracks. Which are all Mike's voice. We want the audience to close their eyes and think they are at a Sting concert.

Believe it or not, that's the recording we did as we were filming. Of course the background vocals were overdubbed later but that's it. I can assure you, that's how we sound!

The song is undoubtedly beautiful, also the ability of the musicians, but I still don't understand the point of playing another band's song in the same way. Even the original band does not play it the same way live. It certainly serves the purpose of getting club gigs, but you don't get out of that range. The beauty of making music is the ability to explore different areas, so why limit yourself to one band?

Hi Gabriele. Thanks for chiming in. We are a tribute band and as such we aim to sound like the studio cuts. When people come to watch our shows, we want to bring them back to a time when they used to listen to these songs on the radio, and from their cassettes and turntables.
