Demyansk looks like hovec sawmill to me so I guess mix of mw 2019, bocw, and waw I guess, but I would remove everything from bocw like the 1911 tactical reload and 8 rounds, and well bocw sucks at everything for me

The maps definitely look more like the style they had in WWII, and I 100% think that's a good thing. WWII was definitely their best one in terms of their own build and not riding on another CoD's essentially-everything like engine and create-a-class nonsense. So more of that is absolutely their best option for it.

Will give SHG credit for nailing the aesthetic of the maps. I admit I was too harsh on the Alpha and Beta. Design choices like doors and historically inaccurate attachments bug me but I’m willing to overlook it if SHG listens. SBMM doesn’t bother me personally as I just play to do fun little challenges and goof around. The map layouts don’t bug me too much as WaW had some pretty cluttered and porous maps . Some that come to mind are Seelow, outskirts, airfield, Corrosion, and Banzai.

Oh no, the beta was rightfully deserved to receive harshness, it was a total mess in every way. Thing is, they actually improved from that, which is a nice change of pace that's been consistent since MW'19. The weapons and create-a-class being a total copy of MW'19 is still a ridiculous problem because there's no reason to have that many attachments to earn for ANYTHING.

I think having all those attachments is just more encouragement for assholes to get those cheating controllers so they can stack movement and speed attachments while avoiding the recoil punishments that are supposed to be the downside. It’s not the only motivation of course, but it’s not discouraging either. Hope the anticheat they are talking about makes the all those idiots angry and quit the game so it can be a more level playing field again

problem with sbmm is that it's an unnecessary autoteambalance that works like a slot machine, the ultimate goal is to make the player addicted to it to make him come back over and over again and in the end buy microtransactions (since you're already playing the game). It's just as predatory as the supply drops, except it makes the whole game operate like a slot machine, not just a small part of it.

I’m really happy with the maps, I personally like how you can climb and walk on things in other cods you usually wouldn’t be able to. I hope the add maps with one or two thing you can interact with like in the one pacific map, similar to what we saw in ghosts were you could interact with something and it would slightly change gameplay.

I respect the parkour and tricky routes that added in. It almost has that MW2 vibe where you could find secret routes and stuff like the cranes on Highrise or the plane on Afghan. Genuinely thinking about buying the game just to test the maps. I've heard lots of promising reviews so I might buy myself an early Christmas gift lol

I see so many people hating how 'campy' the maps are (they would've hated MW2, yet that game is widely regarded as the best cod game ever funnily enough) yet I love how big the maps are. For every place to camp, there's 20 ways to attack from. If you're a good rusher who can think methodically and move around the map strategically, you can do so successfully. If you want to 'camp' (most of the time it's defending an objective, in which case the player is playing correctly) you can do that too with many advantageous positions throughout the map on most maps if you know which way the enemy team is spawning or 'intercepting' them as they move from spawn to objective. The biggest gripe I had with the majority of cods over the last 7-8 years with an exception or two; is the cookie-cutter 3-lane layout. You can spawn in, throw a grenade in the enemy teams direction and get a double kill, and then meet in the middle for a forced stand-off where reaction time and internet connection is king and things like map maneuvering and outsmarting opponents take the backfoot. Every single one of Vanguards maps have its own aesthetics, pace, feel, it's own character/identity. 3-laned maps had the exact same feel and pace from one another with just a different scenery which made the games very stale for me. To me, Vanguard is right up there with MW2/BO1 in terms of map individualities. The only thing that'd make this game perfect is if they never had included tracers/certain skins, changed some of the perks and reduce the insane 10-slot attachment picks which mitigates the importance of what attachments you actually run. I think this game will beat MW'19 and by a mile; will clear every cod game since BO2/Ghost.

I generally don't like maps that are too big it requires a lot of movement and running around corners with multiple pathways available at each turn. It was my biggest problem with Cold War and I'm seeing a strong resemblance here with many of these maps.
