I love how even though Maya is so exceptional and outstanding even in such a highly talented group of dancers like Masters, she laughs all the time, doesn't shy away from being joked about, makes mistakes with a smile. She so obviously loves dance and being challenged in it. I hope wherever life takes her, she keeps that laughter and that love for dance. And whatever company hires her better appreciate and bring her joy as much as you all have or I'm suing.

no shade because i think maya is the mba dancer showcased with the most talent by miles, but she’s not “second principal”she’s a second soloist. a soloist and a principal dancer are completely different positions

Maya is second soloist at ROYAL Swedish Ballet not principal❤ with love from a former RSB school student. National Swedish ballet is another company in Gothenburg (swedens second biggest city). RSB is in the capital Stockholm. And that was a little geography lesson for all of you lovely Maya fans 💗💗💗

Maya is absolutely amazing, what a wonderful dancer. And while I'm sure she's got a lot of talent going for her, there must be an incredible amount of work that went into her dancing to make it look this easy. She deserves every bit of success coming her way. Freaking second soloist in Royal Swedish ballet.

The only thing I am trying to figure out technically is when the double preparation stopped being a technical fault. Is it because the wind up is needed to get the force for that many turns ? I am just genuinely asking. Traditionally men have been getting away with this for a while so is it just that us ladies can get in on the game now ? Genuine question.
@ivyarianrhod7 ай бұрын
Personally, I've only seen the girls at MBA do this (to such an extent). It's an idiosyncrasy that I think should be trained out. It's always bothered me when male dancers do it, too.

hi, not a ballet dancer, so i dont understand what u mean by double preparation.. could u describe it, so i can see in the video what ure talking abt?? im curious to see so i can compare turns with/without
@BrittanyCocchino5 ай бұрын
@@melowlw8638 before taking off for the turn, instead of taking One, solid, solutary pliè (knee bend) and taking off from that One movement, there are a series of Little hesitation bends of the knees. In clean technique you bend your knees once and your arms don't move from their original preparation position in and attempt to engineer extra momentum. If you Watch closer there Is this sort of "Wind up", like and extra pump of both the arms and legs to get force.

I don’t even follow this channel that much but I follow enough to come see what everyone has to say about Maya’s toe pads. Are they still alive? Did she ever replace them? When they finally disintegrate into dust is she just going to *poof* and disappear? There is much emotional investment in those toe pads.
@user-we6kr9pl3mt8 ай бұрын
Still alive and being used, not sure abt when the will disintegrate tho. Maybe in a couple years she will just not use any sort of padding for her toes 😅❤

Also I noticed maya doesn’t cover her heel with her tights, I wonder why, and how does she not get blisters!
@caityjayde968 ай бұрын
A lot of dancers don't cover their heels with the tights because the pointe shoes grip better to skin than they grip to tights. It's also common to put rosin on the heels so that the shoes grip even better and don't move around and cause friction and cause blisters. After a while, the skin also gets used to being exposed to the shoe and can start thickening in that area, so that also helps prevent blisters after a while.

@@C-SDsome professional ballerinas don’t want new toe pads because they’re ’too thick’ at first and the ones they have might be ‘perfectly broken in’. It just depends on a dancers preference
