I like the chip motif in the first Davies era. Almost as much as the chicken motif. The Ninth Doctor mentions chickens in World War Three and The Empty Child, and in Parting Of The Ways, it cuts from the Dalek emperor to a shot of some rotisserie chickens and it foreshadows him calling himself a coward, a chicken, if you will.

It was one of several moments I chose not to include because chips were on screen but weren't actually being mentioned in dialogue. There's also a conversation in "World enough and Time" where Twelve and Bill eat chips while discussing Missy and one from "The Lost Boy" in Sarah Jane adventures which I agonised over whether to include because it mentions a chip shop but never mentions chips.
