I believe that it's likely that the fight with the great Stiopic's Immigrant Mentality strengthened Ngannou's Immigrant Mentality in turn; It was a combination: Immigrant Mentality² that produced Patient Ngannou. "I'm of the belief that top athletes are doing everything in their power to be the best version of themselves, including cheating." Very well said. Finally I come across someone who's enlightened enough on sports and the whole steroid issue to tell it like it is. The reality is that nearly all fighters are using steroids or will use them at some point in their career for one reason or another. Whether its to help build muscle and bulk up to move up in weight, whether its to help with their endurance, whether its to help them cut weight faster and make weight or whether its to help them recover faster from a bad injury that is potentially career ending. It's as Nate Diaz said, everyone's on steroids. And it's definitely not just the UFC either, it's everything, it's power lifting, body building, football, basketball, boxing, you name it, the athletes at the top that have money and can afford it are all taking some type of high end designer drugs/performance enhancers. And why wouldn't they? You would too if it could help your carew, help you make more money, help you be the best version of yourself, or help save your career from a devestating injury. So I don't think people should be so hard on the guys who get caught because the reality is that 95% of them don't get caught. There's all kinds of ways around USADA and drug testing now. For one they have PED's that USADA has never even heard or and doesn't even test for because they don't even know what it is or that it exists. So they have PED's that don't even show up on urine tests or even blood tests. Then they also have all kinds of ways to clean out their system now by taking certain things in case they do get tested. On top of this people like Dana will usually protect his big money making fighters of they do test positive. The only time Dana will reprimand his top fighters for using steroids is if they fail a test and it gets out. Usually he will try and keep it quiet. This is the only reason he punished Jon Jones for using steroids, it's because it got leaked that he was using them and that he failed a test. Look at Connor, he's clearly using some high end steroids to build muse and to bulk up so quickly and to help him recover from his injuries and it's working great, he looks the best he's ever looked. He's probably going to move out of the stacked Lightweight division where there are so many great grapplers right now which is Connor's achilles heel, his grappling/BJJ/take down defense, so he's probably bulking up cause he's planning to move up to Welterweight where he will probably fit a lot better because of all the strikers at the top of the Welterweight division right now and a lack of great grapplers, so if Connor can build enough strength/muscle and improve his grappling/wrestling/take down defense even a little bit then he'll probably do better at Welterweight. I could see a healthy, motivated, bulked up, roided out McGregor coming back and winning the Welterweight title. I'd like to see McGregor come back but as a changed person, one that is more like his younger self before he found fame and wealth, a McGregor that is humble and motivated as opposed to one that talks tons of trash and all the other loud crazy antics he started doing after he became champion. He needs to show more respect for his opponents. Everyone's crapping on the guy though and counting him out and I love when people prove other people wrong and defy the odds. Fighters almost never come back from the injuries he's had and when they do their almost never the same. So how can you blame him for using PED's? You would too. And since nearly everyone is doing it. There's nothing illegal about doing them. And in my opinion they should just legalize them so you don't have some people having an advantage and so its an even playing field for everyone. I also think if they legalized it in all sports that it would make sports more entertaining overall and you'd see the best athletes you'd ever seen and you'd see guys breaking all kinds of records in every sport. You already have that happening now. I mean no Quarterback has ever played at an elite level past the age of 39-40, yet somehow Tom Brady is doing it at age 44-45? It's because he's on all kinds of stuff. The guy looks like he's barely aged in the face and barely even has any grey hairs and he's 45. The last 3 years have actually been some of the best years of his career. No NBA player has ever averaged 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists like past the age of like 30-31 I think but yet somehow LeBron is doing it at age 38 and has been doing it for the last 8 years? Steph Curry is somehow having the best year of his career at age 34 and putting up numbers that no one's ever put up at that age besides maybe LeBron. Tons of athletes are using these things. The top athletes in the world have access to things that we don't even know exist. The drugs their making today are on a whole different level and cost way more then the average person can afford. LeBron says he spends 1 million a year on his body. What do you think he's spending all that money on? You think he's spending 1 million a year on some high end fruits and vegetables lol? All the top athletes are using something.
