Did any of those guys have police videos of them getting arrested while headbutting a police car? Did any of them guys beat up there wife/fiance/girlfriend with there kid there? Did any of those guys use religion as shield and a scapegoat for there actions? Ever since Tyson Fury started following Jesus he's been different ever since his mental problems a couple of years ago. The guys completely changed his life around... Lol what about Jones the hypocrite Christian? Maybe you should actually read the bible, because Jones is not a Christian according to Jesus' teachings. Many American Christians don't understand or even read the Bible. Tyson Fury is also British so it's part of our culture since 189 AD, and we still have a Christian Monarch, America is a secular Republic, who's leaders lie about being Christian. Tyson leads with actions, Jones with words. It's exemplifies the difference in culture too, notice Conor is Irish but doesn't claim to follow Jesus teachings unlike Jones. So it's a bad example to bring Conor or Tyson up. It's something D.C. Always brought up about Jones is a cheater, lier, hypocrite, fake, two faced, drug abuser, spouse abuser... The list goes on and on, and it seems like DC dislikes Jones because he is the opposite, literally. The whole DC vs Jones chapter, sealed Jones' fate with honorable fans who just couldn't like Jones anymore. Remember Jones was viewed differently before and after DC fights. It basically exposed his true character, the Christian Jones was a front. I think DC once said he was shocked about how Jones acted after the cameras were turned off.

Jones and Cormier compose one of those real, organic narratives of choosing principles over victory and glory. For all of Cormier's flaws (towelgate included), the dude has always been consistent with his public and private persona. He dominated a HW division where he was undersized, and chose to take a hard weight cut to LHW for the sake of his friend and teammate, and dominated there as well. He clearly cared about his friends and family, and while he'll talk some smack to sell a fight (see: Ryan Bader), he'll also show deserved respect to his opponents, even Jones. And despite living a much longer life than Jones, Cormier has not once failed a drug test, had a massive DUI record, or resorted to a brazenly false public persona to mask his personal demons. In the end, I have more respect for Cormier openly shedding tears in the cage than for Jones falling prey to his insecurities by repeatedly cheating. Ultimately, a young, prime Jones defeated a Cormier who entered MMA late. I'll give Jones more credit if he can stay clean and still accomplish as much as Cormier did in his late 30's/early 40's. Until then, he's going to have every asterisk on his name, a reminder that pursuing victory at any cost comes with a price, and should not be rewarded.

I'm really bummed by all the nonsense that has surrounded Jones throughout his career. I was a HUGE fan of this guy starting back around 2010. He was this unorthodox, exciting machine tearing through the division. I thought that he and GSP were great ambassadors for the sport to show what it could be at its peak. Supremely gifted athletes with class and dignity. And then all the problems started. At first, I thought "Okay, he's a young guy with the world in the palm of his hand, he made a mistake. He'll learn from it". But it kept happening. Again and again. At some point a guy like that stops getting the benefit of the doubt. To me, this is why he will never be the GOAT. There is a different between being the best and being great. Greatness is about so much more than what you're capable of doing. It's about what you did do, how you comported yourself, how you dealt with adversity. Jon Jones is what he is. An incredibly talented screw up. I've got no sympathy for that.

I don’t understand why nobody talks about his brothers, their PED issues and access to them. Also Jon’s blood work has been suspicious on a few other occasions, anyone who thinks he hasn’t been using PEDs is in denial. The guys using pass the tests all the time, he has continually been either lazy about hiding it, or secretly wanted to get caught.

No idea how everyone gloss over John's connection to NFL designer steroids through his 2 brothers. Who both also had a history of steroid use. I think it's pretty clear he was on steroids at some point purposely. Quiet possibly a big chunk of his career.

Jon Jones represents to me what Tony Soprano represents to television. You cannot simply judge a man by what he does and what he continues to do. When he beat DC for the second time and he was sitting there in absolute ecstasy of the moment with the belt in his lap he said you let yourself down, you let your friends down, you let your kids down, you let everyone down. It never ends. That to me embodies that same grey-ness in morality that you see in everyday life. His mindset is pure to the way life truly is, the good does not always win, and the bad is not always as it seems. Love him or hate him this storyline is a five course meal and you’d be hard pressed to find anything like this outside of MMA.
