Which Thor comics? I had a thick book of a ton of old Thor comics. They were in black and white. He fought Ego, Crusher Creel(the absorbing man), he also fought the destroyer, fought Hercules and fought for him as his champion. There was even Olympian gods. There were mini stories in the issues showing Loki's shenanigans and planning. Some tribal chief or something found a norn stone Loki either lost or dropped or maybe even left it intentionally, i cant remember all of it. I believe some were titled "Amazing Tales" It was a book with many issues consolidated. It was cool but you could tell it was old by how extremely noble and perfect moral compass some chracters (especially as Thor) possessed. One other story was about a king that invited Thor as a guest (he hated Thor or Asgard) but he gave Thor 3 challenges to pass and Thor won two but the third was a trick. The kings wife, daughter, or mistress approached Thor the night before the challenge and told him about the trick and how to beat it. There was also a story where Thor was in control of a ship (on the water) and had a crew that trusted himz but Loki started to sow seeds of deceit which almost worked but Thor prevailed in the end. Im not sure if youre talking stories THAT old but hell i figured id ramble on with a comment nobody will even read, almost completely waisting my time on this when i could bw waisting it watching Deadpool 3 predictions and 100%"real" plot leaks www.goodreads.com/book/show/1433507.Essential_Thor_Vol_2 This was the book

It's kinda weird how Infinity War is, in a way, a more accurate Ragnarok than Thor Ragnarok: It starts off with Heimdall setting Thor on his quest, starting the war, though without sounding Gjallarhorn. Loki's previous alliance with Thanos is like actual Loki's alliance with Surtr. Thanos filling the Infinity Gauntlet is like Surtr forging his sword. Once they're done, everyone is screwed. All the heroes joining in the battle is like the 9 realms joining in, especially if you count the portals in Endgame. The battle ends tragically, with many superheroes (modern day Gods) having died. Just like how Ragnarok is an end and a beginning, Infinity War leads into Endgame, restarting the war.

Though, among other things like strength and oak trees, Thor is associated with thunder and lightning, he does, in fact, summons and controls lightning in the myths despite the Mythology Guy claiming otherwise. I made a comment about this here, in detail, but basically, when Thor arrives to duel Hrungnir in the myths, he summons lightning, as describes in the Prose Edda. And in a 10th century poem about this myth, it references Thor summoning lightning when it says all the skies were burning due to Thor. Setting ragnarok in motion earlier than it was supposed to begin, so that he only has to kill a few gods at the end. killing most Norse gods to fuel his god bomb with their souls. Surtr sees this as the perfect time to attack the nine realms. As soon as baldurs body hits the ground, fimblewinter begins. Thor finds his body and is ordered by odin to find out who killed him, he can't do it alone, but with the other Norse gods being busy with the armies of Surtr, Thor requests the help of Heracles, Sif and Artio the bear goddess. With jormungandr not existing in the mcu, gorr creates him to speed up the ragnarok process, Gorr also creates beta ray bill as part of a race that will only be loyal to him, as a sort of false justification that he is, can and will do better than the old gods. Thor fights jormungandr, but gets bitten, before he takes his final step. He gets healed by Artio's druid magic, because of this he loses his connection to mjolnir and is unable to wield it. Forcing him to leave mjolnir behind on a planet, to fight Thor has to use his signature gloves and belt. With a post credit scene where beta ray bill picks up the hammer. With the movie actually being a two parter: Thor 3: Ragnarok as foretold Thor 3 part 2: Rangnarok cometh

I have a thought on why the gungnir spear wasn't used for the bifrost in this movie. They honestly probably forgot about it doing that or left it out because the movie would probably been a lot more different if Hela was able to start her conquest of conquering the realms. Would've been a cool thing if that was the case.

I can't believe such a deedicated, intellegent and totally not lazy filmmaker such as His Highness Taika Waititi would ever create some stupid plot contrivance in his movie just because he didn't bother with research. Doesn't compute.

In my marvel Fan-fiction, the mythological inaccuracies are fixed. Though I do have to make up characters to make them make a bit more sense. Edit- Actually, now that I think of it, I might just cut Thor Ragnorock from the storyline- it’s just straight up moronic. I never liked the film anyway and it makes no sense.

17:59 It's not exactly the story, this is the closest we get to Jormungandr in the MCU for now. Maybe Loki creates him to protect what he made in the Loki series, actually "fathering" one of his children for once. Time will tell, I'm quite interested in what's to cone with him.
@antona.13279 ай бұрын
it's a pointless line of dialogue that was invented by Hemsworth, who doesn't even know about the story of Jormugandr because he never bothered with much research. Quit writing fanfics and pretending like the MCU will do something well for once - they won't.

Norse Hela : daughter of Loki and Angrboda Comics 616 Hela : Created by Bor Burison and adopted by Loki MCU Hela : eldest daughter of Odin and eldest sibling and dark foil to Thor and Loki Take your pick
@antona.86594 ай бұрын
Comics Hela was born by Angrboda who at some point mated with Loki and gave birth to three monstrous children. What you're talking about is a recent retcon that shouldn't be taken at any value because those same Marvel Comics of today completely destroy their continuity by letting these awful movies influence them. Which is why we now have African-American Valkyries in Thor comics and why Thor for some years was a short-haired dumbo who acted nothing like he should.

Even if they did, they would still be wrong, since comics are accurate to the myths, and comic-book Ragnarok is, while not exactly the same, but covers most of the things that are mentioned in the Eddas. Such as Balder dying, the coming of fimbulwinter, the hunger, the chaos errupting in all the realms, Loki planning his revenge and sailing on the ship Naglfar with his monstrous army, Thor fighting the serpent, Surtur forging his Twillight Sword, etc.
