She's not that in the comic-books. She's a neutral villain, who plays fairly if there's a precedent. She rarely leaves her domain in Niffleheim and yes, she is the daughter of Loki, unlike in this sh1t movie. And Loki is the main villain of Ragnarok in the comics, too. Again, unlike in this sh1t movie.

Which Thor comics? I had a thick book of a ton of old Thor comics. They were in black and white. He fought Ego, Crusher Creel(the absorbing man), he also fought the destroyer, fought Hercules and fought for him as his champion. There was even Olympian gods. There were mini stories in the issues showing Loki's shenanigans and planning. Some tribal chief or something found a norn stone Loki either lost or dropped or maybe even left it intentionally, i cant remember all of it. I believe some were titled "Amazing Tales" It was a book with many issues consolidated. It was cool but you could tell it was old by how extremely noble and perfect moral compass some chracters (especially as Thor) possessed. One other story was about a king that invited Thor as a guest (he hated Thor or Asgard) but he gave Thor 3 challenges to pass and Thor won two but the third was a trick. The kings wife, daughter, or mistress approached Thor the night before the challenge and told him about the trick and how to beat it. There was also a story where Thor was in control of a ship (on the water) and had a crew that trusted himz but Loki started to sow seeds of deceit which almost worked but Thor prevailed in the end. Im not sure if youre talking stories THAT old but hell i figured id ramble on with a comment nobody will even read, almost completely waisting my time on this when i could bw waisting it watching Deadpool 3 predictions and 100%"real" plot leaks www.goodreads.com/book/show/1433507.Essential_Thor_Vol_2 This was the book

It's kinda weird how Infinity War is, in a way, a more accurate Ragnarok than Thor Ragnarok: It starts off with Heimdall setting Thor on his quest, starting the war, though without sounding Gjallarhorn. Loki's previous alliance with Thanos is like actual Loki's alliance with Surtr. Thanos filling the Infinity Gauntlet is like Surtr forging his sword. Once they're done, everyone is screwed. All the heroes joining in the battle is like the 9 realms joining in, especially if you count the portals in Endgame. The battle ends tragically, with many superheroes (modern day Gods) having died. Just like how Ragnarok is an end and a beginning, Infinity War leads into Endgame, restarting the war.

He is neither. "God of Something" isn't a concept in Norse/Germanic mythology. Though, among other things like strength and oak trees, Thor is associated with thunder and lightning, he does, in fact, summons and controls lightning in the myths despite the Mythology Guy claiming otherwise. I made a comment about this here, in detail, but basically, when Thor arrives to duel Hrungnir in the myths, he summons lightning, as describes in the Prose Edda. And in a 10th century poem about this myth, it references Thor summoning lightning when it says all the skies were burning due to Thor. Then in Gesta Danorum by Saxo Grammaticus, Thor strikes some women with lightning bolts.

Imagine how cool it would have been if gorr the god butcher was the one who actually killed baldur. Setting ragnarok in motion was earlier than it was supposed to, so that he only has to kill a few gods at the end of ragnarok, killing most Norse gods to fuel his god bomb with their souls. As soon as baldur is dead fimblewinter begins, Thor finds his body and is ordered by odin to find out who killed him, he can't do it alone, but with the other Norse gods being busy with the armies of Surtr, Thor requests the help of Heracles, Sun wukong and Artio the bear goddess. With jormungandr not existing in the mcu, gorr creates him to kill Thor. Gorr also creates beta ray bill as part of a race that will only be loyal to gorr, as a sort of false justification that he is, can and will do better than the old gods. Thor fights jormungandr, but gets bitten, before he takes his final step he gets healed by Artio's druid magic, but he loses his connection to mjolnir and is unable to wield it. Forcing him to leave mjolnir behind on a planet, to fight Thor has to use his signature gloves and belt. Leaving room for either Jane, beta ray or even volstagg to pick it up. With the movie actually being a two parter: Thor 3: Ragnarok as foretold Thor 3 part 2: Rangnarok cometh

17:59 It's not exactly the story, this is the closest we get to Jormungandr in the MCU for now. Maybe Loki creates him to protect what he made in the Loki series, actually "fathering" one of his children for once. Time will tell, I'm quite interested in what's to cone with him.

it's a pointless line of dialogue that was invented by Hemsworth, who doesn't even know about the story of Jormugandr because he never bothered with much research. Quit writing fanfics and pretending like the MCU will do something well for once - they won't.

Skurge the Executioner had one of the most awesome deaths in Marvel Comics history, and it's a shame the MCU didn't adapt it. "They sing no songs in Hel, nor do they celebrate heroes, for silent is that dismal realm and cheerless. But the story of the Gjallerbru and the god who defended it is whispered across the nine worlds. And when a new arrival asks about the one to whom even Hela bows her head, the answer is always the same: He stood alone at Gjallerbru... and that answer is enough."

To answer a question you had in the video, I believe the MCU Valkyrie is supposed to be Brunnhilde, and when they came out with the mainline comic version of the MCU Valkyrie a few years ago they gave her the name Runa because Brunnhilde already existed in mainline Marvel comics prior to this version of Valkyrie being introduced, but I don't think either name is spoken out loud in the MCU, she's just always called Valkyrie. So yeah, I guess her name is either Brunnhilde or Runa. Excited to see you continuing with this series and can't wait for you to get to Love & Thunder where they start getting into other mythologies besides Norse.
@antona.1327
@antona.1327 2 ай бұрын
MCU Valkyrie is not Brunnhilde, because there is absolutely nothing in common between those two. Comic-book Brunnhilde is a white woman, she's a brave shield-maiden with a lovable personality, a friend of Sif, and she knew Thor since they were teenagers. MCU's so-called Valkyrie is an unlikable thunderc#nt who enslaved people and didn't want to help Asgard until she had a convinient change of heart (if she has any). And yeah, modern Marvel comics letting bad movies crawl into comic canon is why barely anyone wants to buy their terrible new comics. The last thing a Thor fan wants to see in a Thor movie is MCU/Waititi garbage. We read comics to escape from MCU's terrible adaptations, not see them reappropriated.
@lordofninjas1
@lordofninjas1 2 ай бұрын
@@antona.1327 in this case there doesn't need to be anything in common between the two versions of the character for them to be the same character because they are meant to exist in different Universes from each other. While movie franchises like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter are intended to be visual adaptations of their respective books, the same cannot be said of Comics (doesn't matter who's publishing them) due to them existing within a Multiverse, any changes from the 616 story simply means it's another Universe and isn't following nor meant to follow the 616 continuities or characterizations and stuff like that, so things are allowed to be and will be different because the Multiverse allows that to be the case. You may feel the MCU movies are bad, and that's fine, but it's inaccurate to say that that's the specific reason as to why people aren't buying comics. Sure that may be *part* of the reason why *some* may not because the movies put them off from the comics, but it's not factual to state it as you have where it's the only reason no one buys them, they could simply not be able to afford the comics they want to read or not be sure where to start to read whatever comics or characters they want to and stuff like that, those are other reasons as to why people may not buy comics. You seem to be trying to state your opinion as fact and that never works out. You may read comics to avoid the film adaptations, and that's fine too, but again, you are essentially claiming everyone who reads comics is doing that, which isn't the case. Also, I'm curious if there's some anti-Marvel movie & TV bias coming from your direction just in general due to your picture being Batman and all.

In my opinion, there are two ways to look at this movie. You can either view it as an adaption of the Thor comic book series or as a movie in general. It's really not meant to be viewed as an adaption of Norse mythology.
