Nothing against Edgerrin, but I was really hoping the Colts’ entry on this list would be Bob Sanders. He doesn’t get the recognition he deserves because he played more than six games in a season twice, but when he was on the field, he singlehandedly turned a mediocre defense into a strong one. He was only 5’8”, but he packed SO much power, earning the nickname “The Eraser” for his ability to erase the mistakes of his teammates. There’s no way the Colts would have won Super Bowl XLI without him… and he remains the last player in any of the big four American sports to go by Bob.

Edge was a beast and one of the greatest but he gets his respect and admiration. Bob was next level at safety for the Colts. He won defensive player of the year once and hardly gets mentioned. I agree with you.

It took him one game to to show his worth and show Colts fans that trading Marshal Faulk and passing on Ricky Williams was the right thing to do. Hell Jim Irsay presented him with a Super Bowl ring despite no longer being with the team. That and his induction to the HoF are a player and a man not being underrated. Would have been nice to see the voice over guy pronounce his name correctly though. Bob Sanders absolutely transformed that defense and changed how teams played the Colts. The national media always dismissed him because of his size and injuries. He took it personally and would come back scarier then he was before. This list just shows how underrated he is, lol, go figure.

Nah, Giants is Mark Bavaro, easily would have been the best TE of all time if he never got injured. He was the reason for both of the giants first two superbowls as he had clutch moments in times of need

As a Raider fan, my big ‘unsung’ is Eddie Anderson. The man was a sheer best of a free safety- who could bench 550, got lots of picks. None of that was missed when Tecmo evaluated him for the first Tecmo Super Bowl. The man had an ‘81’ power level there.

For the Saints I’d personally I have to go with Willie Roaf. He was a staple on the Saints offensive line for almost a decade, was a six time all pro, and was a member of two All-Decade teams. Easily one of the greatest offensive tackles of all time.

Levonte David is definitely the most underrated Buc. Snubbed for many pro bowls, and wasn't appreciated for years. Probably a lock for Ring of Honor at the point, and still building a HOF case.

Tom Rathman or John Taylor for the Niners. Rathman was the best blocking, running and receiving FB of his era. and John Taylor would have been an all-pro on any other team. he was the enforcer on the San Fran offence.

Lavonte David is the most underrated player every year he has had pro bowl numbers every year of his career (excluding the one he was injured for a few games) and last year he was the best coverage LB and didn’t even get mentioned for the pro bowl and he has had similar stats every year and what his stats don’t show is how many stops he gets right at the LOS he is the reason the bucs run defense is so good he has just been over looked due to the bucs being bad the same thing happed to ronde barber who was the no.1 cb of the 2000’s and still great all the way till his retirement.

Honorable mention for the Broncos should definitely be Randy Gradishar. He was an absolute tackling machine year in and year out, and he averaged over 200 tackles a season for 10 years, retiring with 2049 tackles.

For the 49ers, it's DE Cedrick Hardman. He averaged a sack in 4 out of every 5 games plus an 18 sack season! Should be a lock for the HOF--because his numbers were amassed in 14 game seasons. Therefore you can't compare his numbers to those that had more gsmes: you have to look at it from an average standpoint...
