Two corrections: • Kariya - Getzlaf - Selanne is my forward line for the Ducks (I had Kariya as a C, but he was a LW...how I goofed that, I have no idea). • Also at 28:15 I accidentally depicted Kelly Hrudey, but my Islanders goalie is Billy Smith. Comment with your team's best lineup, and become a member to see my GOAT lineup for the North Stars, Whalers, and more! 🙌 Also, here's a guide for the major awards I refer to, if ya need a refresh: • Hart = MVP • Art Ross = points leader • Rocket Richard = goals leader • Norris = best defenseman • Vezina = best goaltender • Selke = defensive forward • Conn Smythe = playoffs MVP Thanks for watching, Twisters!

@@Rodanguirus Fedorov was primarily a center, but he could play on the wing just as well. He was an amazing two-way player and he had an absolutely lethal shot. Wayne Gretzky once called him one of the best players he's ever seen play. Honestly, I agree with his Wings lineup, but I would have to put Fedorov in for Lindsay. I love Ted Lindsay, he is an icon of the sport, but Fedorov was a force on the ice and I just couldn't leave out my favorite player of all time. I feel like for teams like the Wings, Maple Leafs and the Canadiens, you have to make an entire team, not just one line, to do them justice. For the Wings, I would have this team: Line 1: C - Yzerman, RW - Fedorov, LW - Howe, D - Lidstrom, D - Kelly Line 2: C - Datsyuk, RW - Brett Hull, LW - Shanahan, D - Chelios, D - Pronovost Line 3: C - Delvecchio, RW - Kozlov , LW - Lindsay, D - Konstantinov, D - Kronwall Line 4: C - Larionov, RW - McCarty (you have to have an enforcer on your team), LW - Robitaille, D - Fetisov, D - Reed Larson Goalies: Sawchuk, Hasek Even with that list, I am leaving out some great players. But still, good luck winning against that team. Best part is, those lines can be switched around at will. You can have an enforcer line with McCarty, Konstantinov, Kronwall, with Shanahan and maybe Yzerman to hold it together. You can have the Russian Five line out there as well. So many possibilities.

Well done! Those 8 team players I will change are: 4:08 - Toronto Maple Leafs: / Changing Center. 13# Mats Sundin = Greatest scorer in Leafs history. Great 2-way center inkl. right winger. Great captain. 5:18 - Dallas Stars: / Changing Goalie. 20# Ed Belfour = Turco is fine but Belfour IMO deserves it more. 2x Vezina Trophy, 4x William M. Jennings Trophy, 3 Cup finals etc 7:46 - Montreal Canadiens: / Changing Goalie. 33# Patrick Roy = Needing no introduction. One of NHL's 3 greatest goalies and a pioneer in modern goalie techniques. 11:55 - Los Angeles Kings: / Changing Center. 99# Wayne Gretzky = Needing no introduction. Kings all-time most valuble player who put the team on the map. 12:54 - Wasington Capitals: / Changing Defender. 55# Sergei Gonchar = A top defenseman who was always reliable and good at point scoring. 19:52 - Arizona Coyotes: / Changing Goalie. 35# Nikolai Khabibulin = Was a elite goalie who held up like a wall despite Coyotes had a poor defense for years. 32:06 - Pittsburgh Penguins: / Changing Defender. 55# Larry Murphy = Was an elite defender who played smart hockey and great support. Hard worker indeed. 33:14 - Colorado Avalanche: / Changing Center. 19# Joe Sakic = Mr Avalanche himself is 1#. All time leader in scoring, games and All-Stars etc. Won all!

Worth pointing out that Charlie Conacher wore #9 with the Leafs; the number was honoured and then retired by the team. Numbers in the NHL date back to the 1920s. I'm going to guess you used Hockey Reference for numbers? Cause they randomly cut off their number history to 1950-51, probably because records for numbers before then are incomplete.

Good picks for the Flames. I would have had a very hard time picking between Theoren Fleury and Gary Roberts at LW, but reviewing the stats, I think you made the right call. Theo kept up his numbers better through the 90s as the Flames wallowed in that playoff drought. As for worst screw-up, my initial thought was The Gilmour Trade, that 10-player blockbuster with the Leafs that brought little but disappointment in return. None of guys that came west had any impact worth speaking of, but since the Flames did rebound from missing the playoffs that season to a pair of Pacific titles, I'm going to think outside the box a little and nominate . . . . . . the diagonal stripe jersey. During the time the Flames sported that kit, they went from Pacific champs and that first-round elimination by the Sharks, to nearly moving south in the midst of seven seasons out of the playoffs as fan interest waned during the most moribund period in franchise history. It's hard to pinpoint a worst moment for this club, because in 50+ years of existence, it's never finished in the bottom three of the overall NHL standings, even as a fresh expansion team in Atlanta. Things have been bad, but never absolutely terrible, so why not pick a symbol of the toughest stretch the Flames have endured so far?

Great Topic/list!! Usually these lists are atrocious with most people making these lists not knowing people beyond 2000, but loved this list/picks, and what tough choices to make for some of these franchises. Dal- love the Hatcher pick, he may not have had some of the numbers but when he played teams they feared him cuz he was ferocious. Now me personally, I would have went with Eddie the Eagle, I know he was a bit of a head case but if I was playing D he would be the guy I'd want behind me. Chi- I would pick Savard all day over Kane. To me personally Kane looked lazy numerous numerous times, but Savard, whoa, that guy was magic. It didn't matter if the Hawks were down 3 goals Savard would do his spin-o-ramas and play like his life depended on it. Det- Federov was amazing and sacrificed his incredible numbers to play more defensively when asked later in his career, but you can't go wrong with Stevie-Y, great player, great captain! Wash- Bondra, ehh, mister invisible in the playoffs. Just glad you didn't mention Bobby Carpenter. Me personally, I would have picked Mike Ridley over Backstrom. Backstrom is definitely incredible and probably better than Ridley, but that Wash era with Ridley was a crap team other than him and Kelly Miller. NJ- Love the MacLean pick Cal- Yea, my pick would have been Gary Roberts Phi- I would have somehow tried to get LeClair in there somehiow. But thats just personal opinion, he's the only guy I think still to this day to slap a puck through the twine, not even Al MacInnis, or Rob Blake did that. Plus he sacrificed his back and body playing more in the slot instead of Lindros to save Lindros for the season and playoofs

As a Wings fan, tough to argue with that lineup! Red Kelly definitely doesn't get enough respect nowadays, and it's notable that the Norris Trophy didn't debut until after he had several seasons in Detroit as an All-NHL First Team member and the highest defenseman vote recipient of the All-Star Game. In short, he has a very strong case to win 3 or 4 more Norris Trophies if the award had existed through the entirety of his career. The Red Wings' worst screwup can probably be traced to GM Jack Adams' shortsighted decisions in the late '50s. Lowlights include: Trading away Sawchuk in his prime, with the rationalization that they had a young Glenn Hall. Trading away Hall and Lindsay 2 years later (Lindsay because he was trying to start a players' union). Trading away Red Kelly for nothing (because Adams asked him not to say he was playing hurt in the playoffs, and Kelly made an offhand comment about it several months later). Trading away a young Johnny Bucyk to get Sawchuk back. If I have to pin it to one thing, I'll say Hall and Lindsay, since that took two incredible players off the board in one fell swoop, AND made the previous Sawchuk trade look even worse. In more modern times, GM Ken Holland refusing to step down and make way for Yzerman in the late '00s/early '10s, as was owner Mike Illitch's plan.

Red wings: if you want the older one it’s trading away Ted Lindsay. If it’s new then it’s not making Yzerman the gm when he retired.
@Rodanguirus

Spot on! To make the Lindsay trade worse, part of that same deal was the Wings giving up a young Glenn Hall (whose presence was the reason given that they foolishly parted with Sawchuk a couple years before that)!

And then trading Bucyk to get Sawchuk back, just to complete the cycle of incompetence.

As a Rangers fan it pains me to say you nailed the Isles roster, particularly the intact No. 1 line. On another note, you gotta do this by franchise, without regard to (current) site ...

My 2 Favorite Teams are, as I think that you know by now, The Chicago Blackhawks & The New York Rangers. For Chicago, the trade that would likely have broken my heart, is the one that prevented Both Of The Esposito Brothers from being Chicago Blackhawks at The Same Time. The one that broke my heart/still is deemed The Poorest Rangers Trade was losing Ric Middleton to get a much older & beyond his time (talking about Massacre, with no disrespect to Crispus Atticus).

Vegas has only been in the league 7 years. So you really can’t go wrong picking Marchy, Eichel, Stone as the forwards. Theodore, Pietrangelo and Fleury. I picked Karlsson over Eichel because he scored 43 goals in his first season there, he has played more years in Vegas than Eichel and has an above 50% face off win rate. Eichel has around 45%. Karlsson gets in the dirty areas as well and battles for pucks. I feel Eichel is improving in that area, however. Other than that I agree with the picks. Big Stone fan too. So glad he made your list. The worst screw up ever was trading Fleury.

I agree, trading Fleury was disappointing…but the way it all went down was even more ridiculous.

Would Dickie Moore have made your Habs roster? Like 20 man roster?
@TwistedWristerHockey

I didn't think about the full 20-man roster, but I think as long as we're sticking to true positions, it'd be tough to leave him off the depth chart. On top of his two Art Ross Trophies, it looks like he had a few big showings in the playoffs.

Personally for the caps I think I’d take Gartner over Bondra, Carlson over Stevens and Holtby over big O. Holtby was also an elite playoff performer with a Vezina, a Jennings, better all around stats and crucially a cup.

Pittsburgh's trade for Alex Stojanov and sends Markus Naslund to Vancouver on March 20th, 1996. Also I agreed with most rosters except a few, like Owen Nolan for SJ, Larry Murphy for PIT. Also having Q. Hughes over Edler, Tanev and Ehrhoff. Not saying Hughes doesn't deserve the honor, just he is a bit young for the list and he has so much more potential. Same with J. Hughes for NJ, there is Arnott, Gomez and Henrique. Again not saying the Hughes Brothers should be snubbed but they have yet to reach potential and so many other key players for the orgs they are signed to have had stellar careers. Let the kids cook a bit more and in a few years, revisit the list again. Other than that, I have very little questions about the lineups and I look forward for more content. 🌮👍

Pre watch, I will say the Penguins hands down, not even close. Nothing but HOF players stacked at every position, and a few of these players in the top ten of all time. After watching Murphy or Zubov over Letang, It you went 4 lines deep... all lines would have a HOF player at every position.
