Whats the cheapest gaming pc you could build thats also good for gaming ?

All depends on the type of game and at what resolution mate. If its 1080p a ryzen 5 3600x and rx6600 is a great way to go on a b450 mobo with 16 gb of ddr4 ram and a 1tb nvme. Dependent where you buy parts from could be £400 if your looking for something to last next couple years I would suggest 5600x and a 3060ti that will play almost anything at 1080p with decent fps and offers great value around £700.

If the x12 does all you need then nope BUT I can tell you I reach for the elgato one more often than the x12 just because ease of use and setup time
