Isn't it crazy how most of the Beatles' inspiration clusters within a six-mile radius of their little neighbourhood? When they were young, they found so much creativity with only the mundane things in their reach. Even at this point in their life, they had no idea how big the world was going to be for them, not yet!

40 seconds in and already that's the wrong barber shop by Penny Lane. Paul even went into the right one during his carpool kareoke show. Bioletti it was called (now Tony Slavin) on Church Rd.
@neonatalpenguin6 жыл бұрын
Bishopsgate is wrong too. Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kyte refers to a Victorian circus which took place in the Bishop's Gate area of Rochdale, which is 40 miles North East of Liverpool. The Bishopsgate in London is completely different. And then there's Eleanor Rigby, which was a name Paul made up by combining the actress Eleanor Bron and Rigby's Antiques in London.

Except that I don't think Bioletti's was where Tony Slavin's is now. You can see it (Bioletti's) in old footage of Liverpool, it appears to be a tiny place, painted black, squeezed in next to a tobacconist's, on a slight slope near a corner, IIRC. Not sure if it was even in Penny Lane...

There are quit a few things that are inaccurate in this video, as pointed out by other commentators. At 12:21 it shows the current (as of 2018) offices of Apple Records. This in NOT the location of the famous Beatles Rooftop Performance. In 1969 Apple Records, then known as Apple Corp, was located at 3 Savile Row. That is where the rooftop performance took place. In 2018, if one does a Google Maps search for Apple Records, it shows that Apple Records is located at 27 Ovington Square, which is correct - for 2018, but it is not the 1969 location of Apple Corp/Records.

My fav was Studio 2 at Abbey Road - and the crossing of course, the gardens of Strawberry Fields, Paul and John's homes and, not mentioned here, the hall at St Peter's Church where Paul and John met for the first time - and which turned out to be Paul's audition. Top on the list is getting on the roof of 3 Saville, at least the clothing store there now has kept a lot of the original bits and you can tour the inside.

The Eleanor Rigby thing was a total freak accident. Paul didn't find out there was actually a grave until the song was written, recorded, and released. He first got the Rigby name after he saw some sign that said Rigby, and he already had the tune for the song and a rough story for it, he just needed a name. So he took the last name Rigby and came up with the first name Eleanor, pretty spooky. He addressed all this in some interview a few years back, can't think of the name of it.
