Great video. The fact that Manu didn't play in the NBA until he was 25 and still had so long of a career with the Spurs is wild, but it looks like he only played 16 seasons with the Spurs though (until he was 40).

I feel like Kukoc could’ve been like a Luka type player back then if he was given a chance to be #1 option. He had ball handling, passing, shooting, clutch gene and size. He’s tough as nails too. He’s extremely underrated.
@robotube73619 ай бұрын
Back then NBA basketball was more physcial and under the rim. 3 pts attempts were rare and Kukoc although, good enough coldnt have been the number 1 option against fast perimeter defenders like Pippen Starks Stockton or MJ, when ball handling comes into question or physical types like Malone Barkley Shaq or Oakley under the rim. He was an excellent permiter shooter and he was known for this but that made him 1 dimensional player in that era where driving to the basket or post up play was the bread and butter to every 1st offensive option. Kukoc would have easily be an All Star in today's era doe. Kukoc was no famous for his ball handling or killer crossovers to begin with. He was excellent at finding unguarded players for assists but when it comes to willing your way against tought and crowded spaces under the rim- unfortunately he was never stellar at that and he shied away from those situations.

Toni Kukoc, like Ginobili, sacrificed part of his qualities by playing as a sixth man in one of the strongest teams ever, furthermore before the three-peat with the Bulls he had his three-peat as a franchise player with Split in the Euroleague, and was about to winning a fourth time with Treviso, a well-deserved Hall of Fame for him

This reminds me of the fact that nobody has all 5 major basketball championships: NBA, Euroleague, Olympic, World Cup, and NCAA. The closest is Anthony Davis with 4/5 (missing Euroleague obviously). NCAA + Olympic + Euroleague would be the hardest trio to get since you’d have to play for a U.S. college (a lot of Europeans don’t), be good enough to make an Olympic team (either be an American All-Star or be crazy good like Manu and beat Team USA), and then play in Europe when you’re washed like Kemba Walker but still be on a good enough team you can win. (Also this is only true for men’s basketball, Sue Bird and Taurasi both have all 5)
@jeremiahdanielsamuel25059 ай бұрын
I think the hardest is an NBA Championship, because you have to play against the best collection of basketball players in the entire world for an almost 100 games for less than 10 months. And here comes the playoffs, where NBA Superstars are giving their ultimate best, alongside with top role players all over the world. There, you have to win a series, YESSSS, A SERIES, 4 out 7 of that series. It is in NBA Finals where legends of the basketball were born, not in any championship game of basketball. NBA Finals is the pinnacle of basketball competition, it is like the UEFA Champions League game, where the best clubs with the best players collide. Olympics is not a thing for USA, we all know that they don't give a damn thing about that, because if they do, they would have prepared for a year before that thing happen, and have a consistent composition of team for every international competition. As for the Euroleague championship, are you even joking for making a statement that it is harder than NBA?
@willbowden68979 ай бұрын
@@jeremiahdanielsamuel2505 Of course the NBA Championship is the hardest one individually, I was talking about obtaining them as a trio. You only get 4 years to win an NCAA title (usually just one), getting on either Team USA for the Olympics or beating Team USA at the Olympics is brutal, and then this all-world player is unlikely to go over to Europe when he’s old because he’ll likely just retire and go to the HOF. Also, you can get an NBA Championship as a bench warmer, see Taylon Horton-Tucker. If this were Finals MVP instead of an NBA Championship then yes that’s the most difficult one to get by a long shot.

Kukoc was the silent deadly assasin. Thank God this guy ended being an athlete. I think if this guy was a gun for hire - he would have been unstoppable. Ive never seen somoene so cold and measured and caluclating like him. Some people have that off switch and he has it. He was a true professional and did his job very well. No Ego problems no readjustments no nothing. Dude, came into the NBA for day one never tried to steal anyone's spotlight or even try to "be the man", the "hero". He could have done that easily because Jerry Krause was not the only one aware of his talents in the NBA. What can I say: That whole Chicago Bulls team was made out of people who complimented the GOAT perfectly.
