Just a heads up- Eldritch Battery likely isn't making it to initial early access, at least not how we know it. I found an infinite recursive loop that scaled mana forever using it, and sent a private email to support. This loop involved Discipline, since Discipline scales off mana. This likely would have crashed the servers due to the ridiculous amount of nonstop math that would need to be calculated. Hopefully they get a fix by only calculating Discipline off of non-EB values, but I wouldn't be surprised if they played it safe this close to launch.

Glancing Blows seems really strong with "Merit of Service", the new unique shield, which gives all allies block chance equal to yours. You give all allies nearly capped block with just one passive and they don't suffer from the increased damage taken downside.

Unwavind stance seens focused in block. When you ACTIVE block the bar that fill and fu ck you when it happen its based in your stun threshold. Glancing blows only works for automatic/passive block. Active block still 100%

In regards with the Giant's Blood keystone. The highest strength requirement BASES in PoE 1 are the Coronal Maul and the Impact Force Propagator at 220 strength. While the highest requirement for unique maces is 212 strength. So you will only need 440 strength, not 850.

The 50% "less" mana regen rate for mind over matter is a very well designed downside. It makes it so that the build is still a very compelling concept, but sneakily requires a lot of deliberate stat-distribution balance, that of which will also prevent other build categories from feeling inferior.

I believe there has been confirmation that Eldritch Battery is changed to do basically what it does in PoE 1 (according to Ghazzy, this has been confirmed by GGG as well). That is a hit against a potential overpowered Archmage Setup that uses ES as Mana, but a win for using the new MoM defensively and perhaps Acolyte of Chayula, as it means he can Leech Mana and ES instantly, protecting and using both resources very well, with or without Darkness being used~

Without EB as it was you would never want to use ES on a darkness build. Not unless the unrevealed node gives some insane bonus for reserving darkness counter to the chaos for unreserved. As darkness as it is is like a very small 600 damage ward for 10 seconds at lvl 100.

Any thoughts on this combo? haven't played the first game. eldritch battery: converts all energy shield to mana. eternal youth: life recharges instead of energy shield, life recovery from flasks applies to shield instead. zealot's oath: excess life recovery from regeneration is applied to energy shield, energy shield does not recharge. gets hp regen, when full hp you regenerate shield (mana), health flasks regenerates mana (and so do mana flasks). you could even add 'mind over matter' to change it to a more tanky build and make it so your mana takes dmg before you do and because both your flasks give mana; the 50% mana regen reduction doesn't seem like too big a problem .

Monsters don't have spell or attack categorisation in PoE2 for the purpose of player defences - you can already evade all monster projectiles or strikes without the keystone, and with the keystone you can also evade AoE hits

If you are focusing on armor/energy shield, it's probably not worth the points to get on the tree. If you are armor+evasion, or evasion+energy shield, there are some cases, like he said, possibly better on bosses for the chance to dodge the big slams, but otherwise you will be evading everything else half as much

In poe1, (just like MTG) There's a difference between taking damage and paying life. Usually you cannot spend a resource you don't have. So if you have 1 life, but every spell costs life. You probably won't be able to cast anything

Based on wording alone without any actual testing. It swaps the effect, normally Life is Regen, but Eternal Youth makes it Recharge, however it doesn't say that it replaces Regen, so Effects to Energy Shield Recharge should affect this interaction along with Regen. Allowing you to get to Full Life quicker. Once at Full Life, only the Life Regeneration, which doesn't have an activation time like Recharge nor can be interrupted, will start increasing Energy Shield as long as you have full life. For example, if you can keep an Overflow of your life with Blood Mage, then with high Life Regen you could theoretically have a consistent source of perma Energy Shield Recharge. But that would need to be put to the test. (I guess this is just an example of a Zealot's Oath interaction, lol)

its basicly on the other side of the tree... but if there is a will, there is a way :) just do it edit: just keep in mind that u should probably level as a true monk till ur like lvl~60 and then respecc into it... otherwise early game will be a pain in the ass

Melee still uses accuracy yes, and you need more accuracy the further away you are from the target. That includes melee if you're using slams etc.

CQC skills like strikes don't use accuracy but as soon as there is AOE involved (e.g. slams) or skills have traveltime or projectiles (e.g. sunder, those monk windstrikes) it needs accuracy afaik

Worth to mention that Iron Reflexes no longer has a downside. In POE1 if you had that keystone, dexterity no longer provided bonus to evasion. Since Dexterity in POE2 provides accuracy, which is arguably more important. Iron Reflexes is somewhat more desirable keystone now.

I really don't see how Blood Magic would have any use. Mana regen seemed pretty easy to get from footage shown so far and Max Mana is definitely easier to scale then Life. Blood magic just seems like it's removing one entire resource? you also die faster since now your life pool is under pressure from skill usage. If it cut skill cost in half or gave you some max-life/regen to balance it would be at least acceptable. Am I missing something?

in PoE 1 low life means life below 50%, there is a mastery that allows to be considerate low life below 55% HP. I dont know about PoE 2 tho. When you are CI, you'll be considered always at full life.

Won't Giant's blood basically require just 424str (if PoE1 is considered)? Because at least in PoE1, equiping a stat satisfied item does not require the other weapon have its requirements on top of the already equiped weapon's requirements. 850str would be a shit ton, and a shit ton of life and if you got that roid zerker MTX, god daym.

It shouldn't, i think cumulative stat increase only applies to support gems, not character gear.

The new damage conversion explanations are really poor because it's not being explained when or how the damage is being converted. The explanations I've heard imply that your stat before conversion (A) is then wiped from the games memory and it can never refence back to it, so no new increases in stat A will influence final damage because stat A no longer exists for your character. This would break the game if you can just refund you skillpoints spent in stat A after the conversion without a subsequent decrease in stat A, the same things would apply to stat A modifiers of armour you wore before the conversion which you can then just replace without worrying about a damage decrease becuase stat A no longer exists for you character. More likely is that the conversion isn't a one time permanent event that generates a new stat for another damage type by combining it with stat A. Instead, I suspect that you always retain stat A and the conversion only occurs when you deal damage and so you can still increase stat A and have that increase reflected in your final damage total dealt to the enemy next time you attack. It seems that in POE1 the modifiers to both stats were applied after the flat damage types were combined, but in POE 2 the modifier for stat A is only applied before the combination and either it's same for the convertee stat (scenario 1) or the convertee stat's modifier is applied after being combined with the modified stat A (scenario 2) either way the final damage will be lower than in POE1 but scenario 1 would also result in a lower final damage than scenario 2. From the way it's been explained I think scenario 2 is more likely, as long as you can't completely brick your build by picking a damage conversion passive early in your build I'm fine with it.

What are you smoking rn lol. You have 100 phys damage, in poe 1 if you add something like deal 25% of phys damage as fire damage you will get 75 phys damage and 25 fire damage in total. If you increase phys damage by increases and "more" modifiers fire damage that you convert part of phys damage is going to increase as well. In poe 2 you only care about flat main damage, and dont care about increases and "more damage type" stats if you convert that main damage to another type of damage, you only care about increases and "more" to the end type of damage. There is no way to brick your build with it or somehow make game forget about existence of your stats. Its only used for calculation purposes and game doesn't actually delete anything lol.
