About Aegislash, it's forme changing actually works like this: When it is sent out, it'll be in it's shield forme, and will switch to blade forme when it attacks. To switch it back to shield forme, you need to do one of the following actions: 1) Switching it out will revert it back. 2) Using the move King's Shield will switch it to shield forme, in addition to the move's other effects. I mention this in case anyone is confused, and because it wasn't fully explained in this video.

Giratina's Origin and Altered forms are probably just reversed because it lives in the distortion world, which has completely broken the laws of physics and the ground are not applied to gravity.

Im pretty sure its because the origin form was the form it had before but it was locked to its own realm, thats why the only way it can be in origin form without the gracious orb is by being in the distortion world. the gracious orb works because it is part of the distortion world that can safely travel with him. Without the gracious orb he enters altered form because it is less powerful and as such less likely to mess with the universal order from lack of control over gravity he suffered from so long ago.

There is also a subsection of forms which Bulbapedia calls "form-like transformations", which are essentially form changes that only occur during certain Pokemon's attack animations. This was first shown with Reshiram, Zekrom, White Kyurem, and Black Kyurem, which all have an "Overdrive Mode" where their generator parts light up with fire/electricity. This is later seen with Solgaleo and Lunala, wherein when they use their signature moves/Z-Moves, they become Radiant Sun Phase and Full Moon Phase respectively. Of note is that when Necrozma absorbs either of them to become Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necrozma, the bodies of Solgaleo and Lunala are permanently in these phases. Finally, there's Marshadow, whose default all-gray appearance is called Gloomdweller Marshadow, and when it attacks, some of its flames turn green and it becomes Zenith Marshadow

Zygarde's formes are based off of Loki and Ungrboda's children. 10% is Fenrir the wolf, 50% is Jormungandr the serpent, and perfect is Hela the goddess of death. It's a bit easier to see Hela's representation when you look at Perfect Zygarde's asymmetry. Just as Zygarde is blue on one side and red on the other, Hela was blue and frail as a corps on one half of her body, while being rosey cheeked and beautiful on the other.

There are still some form changes that were not mentioned, though they are all in spinoff games. Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness has the special Shadow Lugia, Pokemon Go has many more hat Pikachus and the armored Mewtwo, and Magikarp jump offers many more colorations of Magikarp; just to name a few.

8:29 the naming for the forms of Giratina is for lore reasons like Giratina can only be in its Origin Form when in its home, the Distortion World, or when holding a Griseous Orb almost sure that is the original form of Giratina and i like to think being in Distortion World so long makes it only able to be in its original form in over world with that stone because of how weird that world is besides we don't know much about it and he was put there by Arceus so and i mean it tends to prefer the origin form in anime movies and stuff from what i remember so i like to just think that is the original form hence the name
