First I'd like too say that for basically everyone else who saw this vid or was in the stream as disappointing as it is this is probably the first time they are hearing 85% of these presidents names, yes many did deplorable things but all they have to go off of is jokes that Tommy makes and what Mr. Beat has told them and that's all they will ever know of these people and the other things some did that benefited the nation greatly. I do hope that some of you guys look into these obscure leaders and find the good instead of focusing on the bad. I don't remember the exact story, but when Ulysses S. Grant's step father died, Grant inherited his slave. Grant then immediately set him free. Grant also let a black police officer arrest him after he was caught speeding in his horse buggy. Grant was actually a pretty cool guy.
@Zitsanrael11178 ай бұрын
Grant was an amazing person, but a few corrections about that first story. It was Grant's father-in-law Frederick Dent, not his step-father (Grant never had a step-father), who gave him a slave and it wasn't an inheritance. Dent just gifted Grant one of his slaves, a man named William Jones, since he was having trouble earning a living since leaving the army. Grant kept Jones for a few months but never really made him do anything, and could've sold him for around $1000, which was life changing money in 1858 and certainly for someone in Grant's position. But while he wasn't a strict abolitionist Grant still didn't like slavery at all, so in March 1859 Grant set Jones free. That speaks volumes to me about the kind of man Grant was. Someone who threw away an opportunity for easy money when he really could've used it, all for the sake of adhering to his principles. If there is one president in American history who I would love to have as a best friend, it would be Ulysses Grant.

Which is messed up because it had massive impacts on eastern asain and was a long 14 year long war for freedom by the Filipinos in order to gain the freedom America had previously promised them after the Spanish American war. Genuinely, without my ethnic bias I’d say this is probably the most blatantly evil the United States has been in a war. Even in other unjust wars like Iraq or the Spanish American wars we had something to blame it on (the uss Maine and 911) but the Philippine American war is the peak of American imperialism and I wish I was even just mentioned in schools.
