Hi, history geek here all of what Mr. Beat said is true none is faulty/untrue but I did see and hear upsetting things. First I'd like too say that for basically everyone else who saw this vid or was in the stream as disappointing as it is this is probably the first time they are hearing 85% of these presidents names, yes many did deplorable things but all they have to go off of is jokes that Tommy makes and what Mr. Beat has told them and that's all they will ever know of these people and the other things some did that benefited the nation greatly. I do hope that some of you guys look into these obscure leaders and find the good instead of focusing on the bad. I don't remember the exact story, but when Ulysses S. Grant's step father died, Grant inherited his slave. Grant then immediately set him free. Grant also let a black police officer arrest him after he was caught speeding in his horse buggy. Grant was actually a pretty cool guy.
@Zitsanrael1117
@Zitsanrael1117 8 ай бұрын
Grant was an amazing person, but a few corrections about that first story. It was Grant's father-in-law Frederick Dent, not his step-father (Grant never had a step-father), who gave him a slave and it wasn't an inheritance. Dent just gifted Grant one of his slaves, a man named William Jones, since he was having trouble earning a living since leaving the army. Grant kept Jones for a few months but never really made him do anything, and could've sold him for around $1000, which was life changing money in 1858 and certainly for someone in Grant's position. But while he wasn't a strict abolitionist Grant still didn't like slavery at all, so in March 1859 Grant set Jones free. That speaks volumes to me about the kind of man Grant was. Someone who threw away an opportunity for easy money when he really could've used it, all for the sake of adhering to his principles. If there is one president in American history who I would love to have as a best friend, it would be Ulysses Grant.

This kid gets so pressed about slavery you could be the best president of all time the second you own a slave straight to the bottom and it was normalized back then and it was like having a maid at your house

24:41 I’m FilipinoZ And I know 90% of y’all didn’t even know about this war because in standard and honors classes in the us they don’t even mention it let alone teach. Which is messed up because it had massive impacts on eastern asain and was a long 14 year long war for freedom by the Filipinos in order to gain the freedom America had previously promised them after the Spanish American war. Genuinely, without my ethnic bias I’d say this is probably the most blatantly evil the United States has been in a war. Even in other unjust wars like Iraq or the Spanish American wars we had something to blame it on (the uss Maine and 911) but the Philippine American war is the peak of American imperialism and I wish I was even just mentioned in schools.

Im not even Filipino, and I still think this is definitely the worst thing my country has ever done, and I definitely agree that it was the worst example of American imperialism. Hopefully US and the Philippines can have good relations in the future.

Eh, the thing about reagan to me is that, for the time his policies were correct and they worked to fixed the economy at the time. Key word being "At the time". In modern times these more than anything hamper the US. Also something everyone no matter what ideology they are can agree on is George Bush Jr.'s presidency was a disaster.

The Espionage and Sedition Act didn’t disallow you from saying those words. It made it illegal to say things of that nature about the government. Abusive things about the government, profane things about the government, etc. FDR was not president before Oppenheimer was a key figure as this was during WW2. Which also means it was during the same time as Oppenheimer being apart of the Manhattan Project. JFK’s mistake was far from the most tame (assuming that’s what you meant) as it was one accidental push of a button away from starting WW3.
