​​@@CodyPease Honestly, that's not even true. Intelligence is a hard thing to determine throughout history, but most the time obviously it does tie into the education system. The education system in current society is leagues ahead of what it was centuries ago. It doesn't mean everyone's obviously intelligent, but we are doing better. It's just hard to see that, when people are pretty consistent with viewing only the negatives. Sorry for the long comment, also just see this type of post a lot.

In 1888, he said, “one day the great European war will come out of some damned foolish thing in the Balkans.” It was in the Balkan’s where Franz Ferdinand was killed and was the begging of ww1! When he was being dismissed and said “…20 years after my death, everything will fall apart.” He died in 1898, 20 years later in 1918, the German empire fell.

Speaking of sci-fi authors, though much more recent in comparison, in the early 2000s I read a book written by Scott Westerfeild that I would later realize has a suspiciously accurate portrayal of modern online social media. At first I thought it was absurd and I didn't get it. Then one day it hit me. Of course I was just a dumb kid, and he was a sci-fi author so...he probably was paying really close attention to trends I wasn't aware of. Perhaps from his perspective it was a logical conclusion at to where we were headed.

The Orwell one is one that I have a hard time agreeing with, of course I am biased I must admit. I just feel that a lot of it is stretching what is really going on, for example all of that surveillance and technology, is owned by private companies, sometimes they do work with the government but that's honestly kind of rare. As you mentioned the war aspect, that's simply is just humanity. My last note really is about privacy, it is still quite strong in the nation. Is it as strong now? No, but it is definitely still real. Of course I could be wrong, and be brainwashed. Whom knows.
