The resident evil series just has the absolute best atmosphere when it comes to horror. One of the biggest reasons why I love this series so much. My favorites are Spencer Mansion, Raccoon City, RE4 setting, Baker estate, and the village in....well village.

Even though the Spencer Mansion is the most iconic setting, I think RE Village is my favorite because the Village itself felt like its own character (No wonder it's titular). It changes every time you defeat a boss and solve puzzles.

I pretty much agree with most of your rankings but I definitely agree with your top three. 😊 Even though four is my favorite in the franchise I definitely agree that the settings on two and one are more iconic. When I think of Resident Evil, what comes to mind are the Spencer mansion and the RPD. I always liked that the RPD used to be a museum and I think it made it stand out more. Spencer Mansion sets the toad for the series to me.

I just thought about an amazing idea for re9's setting. It might be a little out there and weird but i think they could pull it off. So there is like a house but its like a very big house, but unlike most big houses there are like zombies in there and dogs and stuff, which isn't very traditional for houses

RE7 is tricky, since the main house and old house are outstanding, but all new locations after that are kinda weak (the Lucas section is driven more by the danger of Lucas's traps, than the setting itself, and boat driven more by story revelations). Still, the sheer attention to detail in the houses should put it up higher.

Even though rpd is super iconic and definitely a great location the sewers bring it down a lot for me since they’re not super interesting or memorable compared to locations in other games.
