Thanks for the review. I’m surprised you didn’t go into any of the manual video settings; it seems you were using auto even with ND filters which is a bit confusing as ND filters are for allowing you to shoot using the 180° shutter rule. They make no difference to auto settings as the camera will simply automatically adjust the exposure to compensate for the filter’s reduction of incoming light. Does this drone actually allow you to manually set your iso and shutter speed? I’m assuming the aperture is fixed.

@@peakandpaddleuk there are settings in the phone app to switch and adjust the camera settings for each different ND filter. It adjusts the shutter speed among other things. I would usually do this manually, but I figured that HoverAir had already tested this and knew what the exact settings were for their camera.

@ thanks for the clarification! I guess they assume a specific brightness use for each level of ND and adjust based on that. A bit odd, but perhaps they’re trying to simplify usage for non-photographers. Having said that, it doesn’t seem to have had the desired effect, as I cannot really see any motion blur in the video 🤷♀️

I have been thinking about your comment and I really should have shown the phone app and explained the auto setting for each ND filter. I did try all ND filters. I found them slightly difficult to change, especially if you are out on a trail with no wear to sit. I would recommend if you use them to just pick one and change it before you get to the trail. All of footage on the video was shot before the latest firmware update. I know they added some new color modes and some other improvements that likely held ND filter performance as well. Thanks again for pointing that out!

@@BikeRidez And thanks again for the additional info. I'm basically tempted to buy one but want to make sure it's got everything I need! :)

The hardware is likely not going to change for at least a year. So, at this point, the firmware can only get better. I think I might upgrade and purchase a ProMax. i really need the bigger sensor for low light performance during sunrise and sunset. I don't think there is anything else comparable to the X1 Pro/Promax. Maybe the the NEO but it's really like a mainstream toy compared to the X1 Pro/Max. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for the great, informative video and your other videos showing how amazing our Desert is! I just received my Pro Max yesterday and I’m pretty stoked to learn how to use it well, so I can film myself ride’n my Onewheel on the Sloan Canyon Trails behind my house, that I’ve been roll’n for years! I see you highlighted some of them in several of your videos. Who knows maybe I’ll post some when I get it down. Thanks again for the awesome content. Keep them coming!

Well done video. Any upcoming videos that may show how the x1 holds up with wind? Also, with all the accessories how much can I get the whole setup for?
@BikeRidezАй бұрын
Thanks for your nice comment! The X1 Pro/ProMax has a wind resistance claim of Level 5. This means it should be able to fly in winds up to 24 MPH. I've tried to fly it in sustained winds of about 10-15 MPH with gusts up to 25 MPH and although it will take off and hover, I'm unable to get it to lock on me and stay locked on me for follow me flight modes. I also tried a Zoom Out in those same conditions and the X1 was all over the place and the video also showed it moving all around too. It's a tiny little flying camera. It's really should not be flown in those type of wind conditions regardless of what Hoverair claims. My Skydio 2+ struggles in 15 MPH sustained / 25 MPH gusts too. I don't know that i will do a follow-up just about wind. Maybe if someone else asks I will consider. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching.

Enjoyed your video and learned a few things. Still playing around with the Pro Max on trail runs but am enjoying it thus far!

Great video! My friend received his a couple of weeks ago and he told me he is having connection issues. Did you experience any issues like that?
@BikeRidezАй бұрын
Thank you for your nice comment! When I received the X1 it was still in or barely out of beta testing to a world-wide group. There was certainly some glitches. I saw members of the test group acknowledging some issues with beacon connections but I did not experience this. Since I've had it there have been 4 firmware releases I believe. There was just a new release last week. This seems to have cleared up a lot of the issues I had. However, since I've gotten the updated firmware, it has been very windy here in Las Vegas and I have not been able to fly much other than in my house. The review video was made before the new firmware update. I'm hoping this weekend to do some real flying though. On the beta test group forums I see a lot of members claiming that most of their issues are resolved. I surely hope the HoverAir team can focus on new features now.

Already have the X1. Still waiting for hoverair x1 pro max to be shipped to me. :(

From what I’ve heard the pro max is a big upgrade from the original X1. I think you will be pleased! Good luck!

Thanks for this video. I have one question - With the kind of scenic trail videos that you post, why did you go with the X1 Pro instead of the X1 Promax which has 8K???
@BikeRidezАй бұрын
The X1 Promax was not available to me for testing. My plan for this video was to compile a bunch of good footage and just review the video quality. However, high winds here in the desert have prevented me from getting enough footage together. The Promax sounds awesome. I would surely say the 8k and 1 1.3 sensor will produce a much cleaner and dynamic video.

ha. I'm: in Vegas, have a Skydio, just bought a Hoverair, ride an e-bike.
