People underrate that match just because they didn't like the ending. But that ending enhanced the stakes for 40, so it's integral to the heat of the overall feud. And as a pure wrestling match it was excellent too.

While I felt at times the Undisputed title reign ran on fumes and had no direction, it was an overall good reign. I think the reign lasted a year too long, but the way it ended was absolutely perfect.

Wwe saved themselves but having Cody lose the first time was really bad. The story was set up, underdog mega face who came back from not just injury but from being a failed star trying to do something his late father never could, against the man who was the heir and now leader of the most successful wrestling family ever. Someone who was given much more lean way to find himself then Cody was. He should have one then. Pivot into the Brock Cody feud wich would have actually made sense, and Roman could go into a feud vs the rock as well as the bloodline 2.0 stuff as well. Also Jimmy and jay could have turned together cause jimmy’s wierd heel turn sucked and still sucks

*Looking at the pros and cons of Roman’s title run…* PROS: - It allowed Roman to finally find his stride as a main eventer after years of bad booking during his disastrous babyface push - The tribal chief gimmick has been phenomenal - The Bloodline story has been great for the most part - Had loads of great matches - The run proved that sometimes less is more despite overstaying its welcome - Roman’s mic skills had massively excelled - Took part in lots of great feuds (most notably the feud with Sami Zayn) - Elevated the Usos CONS: - Should’ve lost to Cody at WrestleMania 39 (I will die on this hill) - His part-time schedule sort of put a damper on his run - They were times were the reign felt like it was more about quantity over quality - It seem like WWE kept the title on him a bit too long for stat padding purposes - The Bloodline story dragged on a little bit too long despite being great for the most part - Most of the finishes of his matches were way too predictable - They should’ve just had Roman carry the Universal title only (I really was not a fan of combining the world titles at all)

I remember being at WM 39 and being so disappointed that Cody lost and then followed by immediate anger when I went to In N out in proximity and the entire burger establishment threw up the 1 and I declared , " If Cody Rhodes doesn't win the WWE Championship at WM 40 , I'm never watching wrestling again." As the months neared and the rock Swerve happened , I was just appreciating the time I had left as a fan of something I had been my entire life and through the very sheer force of will I had in my mind. He did it. Cody finished the story but my story was nowhere near from finished.

I think the Goldberg match at Saudi is just a comparison of what a Goldberg-esque run would look like in today's wrestling. Roman did said he will "Goldberg" Goldberg, which as mentioned in this video is a hit-big-move-win-match shtick. Didn't help that his big moves are not as physically as impressive as the jackhammer and his spear is not as explosive (and as a result, is safer to take) than uncle Bill's. I don't quite understand the love for the WM40 match- Don't get me wrong, it was bloody awesome but I really think the ending was an overbooked mess. It was supposed to be Reigns VS Rhodes, by the end, especially with that stupid rock-cena staredown, it really felt like they we're on the background, it fuckin' sucked.
