Absolutely up there for sure. I just always laugh when people use David and Goliath as a term, since the myth has him use a sling..which was as powerful as a modern desert eagle and could core someone's head off from hundreds of yards away, so the entire term doesn't really work since the little guy brought a gun

It seemed so real because it was lmao. They botched the finish and somehow landed at the same time. So Vince had to come out and make them restart the match, tearing both his quads in the process. During the final few seconds, Batista re-attempts the original finish (Batista Bomb out of the ring) but Cena can be heard saying “No no no!! Spinebuster, then throw me out!!!” Which is what then proceeds to happen.

I know this is all about the final two of the events, but the lead up TO the final two was so good in 2004... Big Show was left against a handful of babyfaces (Cena, Jericho, RVD, Angle) that were all teaming up just to get HIM. He went through and eliminated every single one despite their efforts. So when Benoit was left alone and pulled it off, that made it even better. And the way Show slowly gave out as he was pulled over the top took agonizing long in a great suspenseful way.....Amazing end to one of the best Rumbles.

The big problem with the finish to the '95 Rumble is that the 'two foot bad, one foot OK' rule just never existed before then. It was a spurious rule thrown in to set up a new finish. 36:56 while it was disappointing that Liv was eliminated at the end, she did incredibly well. Cast your minds back to 2019 where she lasted a paltry 8 seconds after being unceremoniously chucked out by Natalya. Four years later, she lasted little over an hour, scores three eliminations and gave the eventual winner a run for her money. Liv Morgan has come a long way from her early days on the main roster and I'm confident she will return this year and win. She deserves it.

Ric Flair's amazing performance in the 1992 Royal Rumble can't be beat for me. And with Heenan's commentary, it was a thrilling nail-biter. I can still remember how happy I was as a 13 year old teenager in 1992 when Flair won it. I was like...he proved without a shadow of a doubt that he was ...the man. The greatest ever. And even Hulk Hogan and all the greats will tell you the same.
@daviddalrymple2284

The match was pure entertainment from start to finish. You had Shawn Michaels getting his first chance to show off his solo persona on a big stage. You had all sorts of 1980s legends (Volkoff, Sheik, Tito, Valentine, etc.) getting one last PPV appearance. You get the memorable halfway mark of Boss Man cleaning house, then getting eliminated by Flair's opportunism. They kept the heat on the Savage/Snake feud. And in spite of the memorable set-pieces, it never felt "overbooked" the way a lot of modern Rumbles do. They didn't have a lot of moments where people were just sitting in the corner, watching; there was always something happening. And one more touch I really liked: there were no tag team partners in the match. So you didn't have any of those "Whoops, sorry, partner" moments that had already grown stale by 1992. There would be brief alliances of heels ganging up on the faces, but they would quickly turn on each other; it truly did feel like "every man for himself".

It's easily top 3 in terms of "match within a match" endings with Taker/HBK and Cody/Gunther. Also, I think the 2023 Women's ending should be a bit higher. @@rossluke901Everyone wanted or expected "Stone Cold" Steve Austin to win the 1999 Royal Rumble match, which would've been Austin's 3rd Royal Rumble match victory IN A ROW(he won the 1997 & 1998 Royal Rumble matches) instead of waiting 3 years in 2001 after his second Rumble victory to win again. One of the last men most fans wanted or expected to win the 1999 Rumble match was Vince McMahon, but, in a plot twist, he won, thanks to a distraction by the then reigning WWF champion, aka the "Corporate Champ" or, in the fans' minds, the "People's Chump/Sellout," The Rock, helping Vince to eliminate Austin. Like that year's Royal Rumble PPV tagline "No Chance In Hell" suggested, that's exactly what happened to Austin that night.

Why big show went to the other 3 sides first then went to the entrance side not the hard camera. Then led to a story line not just a cover. But I'll accept that's just a cover. And keeping in mind confirmed multiple times the original elimination chamber caused issues by people's pods opening early and the HHH injury and no one really noticed.

I love that for a few years, WWE really did put Roman as the final hurdle for the winner, just so us fans can sweat that out favorite may lose to him

I always thought they should of done a Luger Hart scenario with Cena and Batista after the 04 Rumble since both ended up winning a world title at Wrestlemania anyway.

The '99 Rumble, if it was Durag Vince he woulda stayed in the match the whole time and got 29 eliminations to win, go to Mania, and cleanly win the WWF title😂😂

Wow such an interesting fact about cody and gunther, #1 and #30 being the last two. I think the only time this almost happened was in 2006 between Triple H (#1), Mysterio (#2) and Orton (#30) but then HHH got eliminated before Rey.

I got a KZbin front page suggestion to watch the entire Royal Rumble 2015 on WWE's KZbin channel and I was like "pass". I don't need to relive disapointment crowd jeers again.

According to Bruce Pritchard, the reason they had Studd win was to make him a draw for the house shows when hogan wasn’t there.

36:13 Crazy how Kane also has the most eliminations throughout all Rumbles as well, and he never won one

In hindsight, the 2018 women's Rumble would have been a lot higher on the list if you swap out Bella for Banks. The biggest issue with an otherwise good climax was that there was no chance in Hell Auska was getting eliminated once they were down to the three they were down to. Also, Sasha getting eliminated after one kick would have made at least a little more sense from an exhausted Ironman (that actually knew how to sell well...).

We need every elimination ranked. If you start writing it today it could be finished by next year's Rumble! 🤣🤣

*I massively disagree with Triple H eliminating Dean Ambrose at the 2016 rumble being ranked as high as #5 because honestly, I would rank it WAY lower. I get that Roman Reigns getting added some high stakes and drama to the final showdown of that match, but it would’ve been way better if they went with Ambrose winning, considering the fact that he was the hottest babyface in the company during that time. HHH winning was just stupid and pointless.*

The 3 wrestlers I always felt should have at least won one Rumble were Mr Perfect, Rick "The Model" Martel and Dino Bravo. Ahh what could have been.
