Totally right - that season 5 cliffhanger was absolutely amazing! The way they brought all the characters together was genius! KL really had the best acting and writing of all the soaps. Love all the Donna Mills scenes, she was such a big part of its success - so fun to watch her in action! And to see the millions of viewers is so cool. Basically, everyone knew who these actors were, even if they didn't watch the shows. Today's shows don't get half that audience. Thank you so much for the great clips and information behind them. Really fun to see!

Was that the episode where Karen runs into the building lobby right as Mack is forcing the gunman to move his aim and the gun goes off and hits Karen in the stomach? I was a kid when that aired and I was really affected by how well and how dramatic that scene was constructed and filmed. And the way Karen goes down to the floor, with Michelle Lee’s bewildered facial expression. Even at a young age (though not so young that it was inappropriate for me to be watching) I remember that scene made me realize how interesting and creative a scene could be if all the elements came together to form a major buildup and dramatic conclusion.

It was Lisa Hartman, singing that got me hooked on the show. After Donna Mills left, it was never the same even though I watched until the end. But the last season or two were kind of hard to get through.

Thank you so much for this cool video. When you think about it, for a show to achieve almost 40% share of the audience is fantastic in any situation but to do so against such fierce competition as LA Law, Hill Street Blues and sometimes even Cheers is staggering. You can't help but think just how many more millions this show could have notched up on a quieter night of the week. And great to see some of those classic scenes again 👍🏼

Only the first two seasons are on CD’s. I wish they would put the rest of the seasons on CD’s. Knots Landing is the best shows ever made as far as I’m concerned. I miss watching the series.

Vicki, I´m happy to say that´s gonna change. Warner has remastered all Dallas and started streaming it (with future Blu-Ray release), and both "Knots" and "Falcon Crest" will follow if not this year, the next, it´s official! Have a great year! Toni

I don't understand why CBS never really support Knots Landing (but order budget cut at season 9) Cbs should support more Knots especially around 1988 when all the soap starts to decrease but Knots was still a sucess both in audience and artiscally .

The closest I found is using a VPN and set the internet 🛜 location in the U.K. I found it on Dailymotion, but it was in French and K.L. via a VPN location in Germany, but it’s in German. I need to relearn German. In Germany, K.L. is titled, Unter der Sonne Kaliforniens. Enjoy 😊

Good ear. It actually does sound like her but with the audio sped up a bit. It could be that the way they shot the scene turned out to be a little too slow and the producers felt it needed to go a little faster to maintain the tension, or that they had to speed up a few moments here and there to fit the allotted episode run time (gotta fit more ads in to pay for the show and make a profit). That can happen if they realize the episode is running a tad too long but they don’t want to edit any more content out than they may have already. They will find little pieces here and there and speed them up. It’s usually not that noticeable but here it is. It seems like in this scene, even Abby’s movements seem just a tiny bit unnaturally quick. These days, reruns are sometimes sped up from the original air time to fit more ads as well. It could also simply be a result of the way the clip was digitized for video use. The only reason I doubt that last possibility is because Laura’s voice sounds natural, as far as I can tell.

I could watch Knots for 13 years with an episode highlighting every week. It's a shame this show has not fully made it to DVD and is unavailable on any streaming format. Desperate Housewives, which is almost as good has the same curse.What is up with this?

John, Knots is being remastered at this moment. I will keep you all updated about this. In theory, just like "Dallas", the show in HD will be streaming and released on DVD in 2024 if not earlier. "Falcon Crest" will probably follow their steps. Toni from supersoaps.org
