Abby was the best of the nighttime soap villianess. Her few scenes with JR were just entertaining.

Bobby is brilliant at 6:07 - the only one with his head squarely on his shoulders with a real moral compass. Really sets Gary straight about how he must support his sick wife no matter what.

4:11 Bobby didn't necessary stay dead on Knots he was never mentioned again and it was kind off ignored as Knots still acknowledged the Dallas timeline where in the last 2 seasons how the Ewing's lost Ewing Oil and Lucy lived in Europe as mentioned by Mack. Dallas has also acknowledged Gary and Val were married as when Knots went off the air in 1993. As during the dream season on Knots Gary was married to Abby. So both shows kept up with the timeline and current events of each other's shows.

Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark had instant chemistry on Wonder Woman. For me he is Gary. The other guy just didn't click I think with Joan. I've always felt Knots was far superior to Dallas. Like Michele often says 'it's about us'. I felt like I knew every single one in Knots peronally.

Knots was a great show too. It didn't get the same credit as Dallas or Dynasty. Which was a shame. Knots landing was a Superb show. I think if it started in the 90's instead of the 80's maybe it might got credit it deserved.

As fond as aMiss Ellie was of Gary, why didn't Barbara Bel Geddes ever do a crossover and appear on knots Landing?
@suelui61947 ай бұрын
Right?!? She had millions of dollars and didn't work a day job. She could have gone to visit once a month if she missed him so much. And Lucy only ever made one appearance on KL - what was that all about? They were her parents!

Number 8 is not considered a crossover. By that time, there was no Knots Landing. So they weren't crossing over. In fact, Gary and Val were originally DALLAS characters, so technically it is not a crossover when they appear on DALLAS. This is probably the reason why Joan Van Ark and Ted Shakelford were the only KL actors who appeared on DALLAS. For Abby or Karen or Greg Sumner or anyone like that to appear on DALLAS, they would have needed permission from the LK producers. And after the Dream Season, the KL writers and producers fell out with the Dallas writers and producers.

JR's influence.
@edwardmalone52577 ай бұрын
I never liked the way the reboot depicted John Ross. The new John Ross acts like he never knew his grandmother, Miss Ellie. He constantly refers to her as "Miss Ellie" (3:45) and not as "grandmother" as he did in the original series. Miss Ellie and Clayton Farlow practically raised John Ross. With the exception of the brief time he lived at the Southern Cross & at Sue Ellen's townhouse as a baby, John Ross lived at Southfork until he was 12 years old. But in the reboot, he acts like he barely knew his father J.R.

Why did they leave her behind
@xavierrethore37782 жыл бұрын
@@MrJawstherevenge87 Gary and Val were supposed to start a brand new life in California, as far away from Dallas as possible. I've read there were some plans to transfer Lucy to the new show but the producers changed their minds and kept Lucy in Dallas. She would have been out of place in Knots Landing and after a whole lifetime in Southfork it made sense that she wouldn't want to uproot her life. Knots Landing being a spin-off of Dallas was a way to launch the show and boost the ratings but the two series were very different beasts at first and the links with the parent series were sometimes awkward. However, Gary became a rich man after his daddy's death and that paved the way for new, more glamorous storylines away from the cul-de-sac and the car dealership.
