Carmilla is quite an interesting character. She acted out of love for her daughters and now fears starting a war that could cost her the lives she cared for. If there's one person who might be able to be "rehabilitated" back into heaven, then she is definitely a candidate.

I was fully expecting Carmilla to be another villain, but no, She's just controlling her turf like the other overlords and trying to protect her daughters. And she feels genuine guilt for causing the angels to move up the extermination. I love her character. Also, "Whatever It Takes" and "Respectless" are such incredible songs. That duet was perfection, and the fact they were both from In The Heights felt like a great callback.

Fun fact: Zestial is voiced by James Monroe Iglehart. He’s no stranger to Vivziepop’s work as he’s also Vortex and Asmodeus in Helluva Boss and also had a voice line in the Hazbin Hotel pilot. Just gonna say it even before I even see the reaction... Velvette was easily the best part of this episode, her song with Carmilla was an incredible display of Mind Games and a demonstration that she's not just "in charge" of social media but that she's a Genius of social interactions, to the point that only Zestial and Alastor caught up to what was actually happening. When Velvette says she's the Backbone of the Vees... I believe her.

Velvette was the youngest at the overlords table, having died comparatively recently (estimated 2010's). The next youngest overlord at that table had died in the 90's, the dinosaur lady. Alastor died ~70 years earlier, and most of the other overlords are from the 1800's through early 1900's. Zestiel is the oldest overlord, with no confirmed death date but he has centuries on most of the younger overlords.

When you finish the series, you NEED to look up Pentious background scenes. He is frequently seen in the back doing cute funny things. Like we see when Kiki first sat in his lap and he gets his "I am the chosen one, chosen by the cat" moment. Or we see him confessing to Charlie about his crush on Cherry Bomb. Or just him enjoying hanging with his egg boys. There's just so many cute wholesome background moments that don't get enough notice because of the main scene, but everyone needs more of Pen being a cute muffin.

Respectless remains my favorite song in the show and Velvette remains my favorite villain. Her song shows that she doesn't just run social media, she IS social media and a genius at not just social interaction but also pushing people's buttons to the point that they expose their secrets. When she says she's the backbone of the Vees you better damn believe that she is 1:14 Not to he hotel but to Charlie's story book, the one we see her read in episode 1 2:25 Remember back in Helluva Boss when Moxxie finds Striker's gun and refers to it as a "Carmine crafted bless tipped riffle"? Yeah, THAT Carmine. 8:24 Yes, that's how Sinners become Overlords, by gaining souls via whatever means possible. Think of Overlords as very rich business people who start out poor but gained so much money and influence that they are now a cut above the rest 9:07 This is a bit misleading. 16% of SINNER population, not overall population. Remember, exorcists only kill sinners 10:38 Because the Vees are arrogant and think they can do everything themselves. It's a generational conflict that we see here, the Vees being the new generation and the other overlords being the old generation. 12:08 Not just accusing her., Through her song and her pushing Carmilla's buttons she pretty much confirmed that Carmilla was the one who did it. 12:16 Not all of them. The Vees are known to be ‘arrogant’ and think highly of themselves. They hardly ever want others to join them (hence why Alastor denying Vox’s invitation was so detrimental). So because of their egos they don’t find themselves needing to go to overlords meeting because they’re ‘better’ than the rest of the overlords. As for Velvette calling them old and insulting them, she’s been confirmed to be the youngest overlord (died in the 2000s-2010s hence her tech and social media presence) while Zestial is the oldest (which is why he speaks like he does with ‘thou’ and other terms like that.)

I am both extremely curious and also terrified about Nifty's past. I have so many question that I don't want answered. Carmilla is awesome. She actually cares for others, tries to make rational decisions to protect those people and others. Zestial is the first overlord. He has been around for quite some time and his reputation is why people run terrified from him. He is clearly extremely level headed and thoughtful, cautious. And yes, Alastor is nervous around him too. He covers it extremely quickly and very well. Alastor wears charisma as a mask. Honestly, every character in the show feels very grounded and real. There are a lot of messy pasts, deep traumas, emotions, hopes and dreams. From Charlie's near toxic optimism that gets tempered a little more each episode, to Vaggie opening up more and showing more than just anger and distrust. Things are earned.

Most of the people you've seen aren't really demons in the traditional sense Matthew, though they're referred to them a lot, but actually Sinners. AKA humans from earth who have died and gone to Hell. Velvette is VERY young compared to many of the other characters, having died pretty recently along with VOX (due to being a TV demon).

Lucifer's Family - Lucifer, Lilith and Charlie 2. The seven deadly sins - The kings of the seven rings - Asmodeus, Mammon, Beelzebub etc (Seen in helluva boss) 3. Royal demon born families - Demons born in hell that are royalty - Stolas, Stella, etc. (Seen in Helluva boss) 4. Overlords - Souls who died and went to hell and acquired powerful magic or something - Alastor, Valentino, Vox, Camilla, Zestial, etc 5. Souls - Dead people - Angel, Sir Pentious, Nifty, etc 6. Hounds and imps - Hell born creatures/minions - Blitzø, Fizz, Luna, etc (Helluva boss cast basically) Angels have pretty much the same system but different names I think. All the animals in the show I'm guessing are just dead animals who used to be alive, except for Charlie's pets
