@@mariethedove3909 think what they mean is like in my very small school (that is not doing well at all) we got a ton of IEP kids this year. Parents try to “normalize disabilities” by acting like they’re not even there. So no one is aware, my teachers sure weren’t and a kid with anger management issues threw a laptop at him and he didn’t know the kid would do that. Also acting like it’s not there is hard for the kid, because they know what’s wrong but it’s like your parents refuse to address it and accept everything about you.

But they also def explained wrong stereotypes and misconceptions people have, like not being able to eat sugar. They had to reshoot some scenes of the episode after the first version was misinformed and people complained. 🎵Normalize disabilities! 🎼

At least from what I remember of the Shake it Up! episode, Cece knew she was dyslexic but kept it secret from Rocky (and others) out of embarrassment. It only came out when Cece's math tutor told her that he could tell. This implies that it hindered Cece's math. But yeah, she does run out and say the "alphabet soup" line. Thing is, Bella Thorne actually has dyslexia, I remember a Disney short where she talked about it. So I don't how much of that was her actual feelings towards having it or the producers' script.
