If I already have a miter saw is there any advantage with the sled also?

I have a miter saw as well but with a cross cut sled I rarely ever use it out side of rough cuts, and bevel cuts. Cross cut sleds are generally much more accurate, completely reduces tear out, can cut much wider boards, can cut sharper angles, can make cabinet door rails and stiles, can add jigs on to your sled and the things you can do are endless. It's definitely worth having I think you'd find yourself using it more than your miter saw depending on what work you do.

A sled is safer for small parts. Take care.

Haha. You are correct. We are parked at my in-laws right now and I'm making use of his garage. While keeping my eye out for land and a barn. I need to get back in to a shop.
