Unless that was a Coues Deer which is a smaller breed of deer than the average whitetail. Which is common in Arizona and California. Then that would have been a good size Coues deer

You're not meant to play it off the tee but instead do so off the fringe grass around the greens or even at home in your back garden or yard so as to recreate bunker shots by sweeping the legs from under the ball, making contact a little way back from the ball itself in the same way as you should be contacting the sand first rather than ball first with bunker shots, which then throws the ball up and out over the lip. Amateur golfers become so focussed on ball first then turf when on the fairways that they often do ball first in bunkers too and get a flyer and/or overhit the shot and overshoot the green or end up in another bunker on the other side. You would not use a driver or long iron from a green side bunker and so are meant to use a wedge with this training aid.
