Every Shot of an 18 Handicap Golfer's Round (Northop GC)

Can I break 90? - EVERY SHOT IN 15 MINUTES
A round of golf at Northop golf course in North Wales. It's a par 72 hole course that was 6052 yards.
The green fee was £18 for a twilight rate in September 2021.
I originally only played this course to see if some of the recent 2 star reviews were accurate. But the course was in fine condition, especially the great greens. Maybe the bunkers needed a little TLC but you can't have everything!
I'm James, a golfer with a dodgy swing now playing off an 18 handicap. I had taken 3 golf lessons to improve my swing on the day of play. I previously was struggling with a straight left miss a lot which accounts for a 2 month break from recording course vlogs (lots of lost balls!).
I'm looking to continuously 90 after taking some golf lessons. Even if I don't shoot a good score I always enjoy strolling around the fairways of North Wales, UK :-)

33 putts is no mean feat, if you could add 10% distance on each club you would chew up the yardage. You keep the ball in play all round which is a challenge of its own.

I absolutely love how you played hole 5. Took your medicine and gave yourself a chance at par instead of hitting the highlight reel shot and it ultimately failing leading to double bogey or more. The more you improve, you’ll put those 55 yard shots closer to the pin and you’ll save par. Keep it up!

Well played, after the first two holes your putting was in gear, mostly very solid 2 putts. The first putt getting you to tap in distance most of the time. Avoiding triple bogeys is a must and minimise doubles to be beating 90. Congrats on the first birdie your slice/ fade is consistent which is why you can allow for it.

It is a lazy swing...you’re right. No effort went into working on that swing at all. Only a hard head would continue on with that swing and not try to change. He’s wasting his younger years half-swinging like an elderly grandpa. It’s kinda sad.

Great improvement all round. You had great putts that were very close to going in, super reading of the slopes. Fabulous to score 89. I bet if you played that course a few more times to become familiar, you'd be shooting mid to low 80's

Don't go hero shots unless you have lots of power. Trying to hit shots high over trees require high club head speed.

Nice to watch someone that’s not a scratch player, your putter seems solid and I think the main issue is the ‘winter greens’ you hold good pace and momentum! When I play new courses I like to experiment a little but that’s my personal style and also what tracker do you use ? Looking at one myself but overall good content mate

I've seen a lot of improvement in your putting, and all around game. Those long putts that are coming just a few inches from falling are gut wrenching. But much better than sailing one past the cup. Good speed and distance. 👍I have to remember to hit the like button more.

Hole 5 was a typical (for this golfer) HUGE slice to the RIGHT, (from where his feet were aiming, and where the line of the ball started), yet you marked it as going left on his card??? YES the ball did end up in the rough on the LEFT of the fairway, BUT I would DEFINITELY mark that tee off as going RIGHT, which would more accurately show how often, (almost all) of his drives are a slice. Good luck. His strengths are his approach shots, and pitches, and long puts, but needs to practice his 6’ puts, at home, like all of us, and fix his slice, and he would save 5-6 shots per nine holes…

Wow, that took alot of editing. Ive tried making a couple of these videos, but adding the tracer line via the free app, along with adding the info on each hole and your score. Its a lot.
