Seeing Jon give that man a check for $10,000 just to make sure the bar would be covered until they had the business up and running was just absolutely wholesale. The emotion and sincerity in that moment was so incredibly beautiful, it only hit harder as the scene continued. I mean hearing Jon Taffer getting choked up explaining to the Bar Owner why he deserved that check, that hit me like a sucker punch to the gut. The combination of the kind gesture and the emotionally filled words made this already emotional scene become 10x more overwhelmingly emotional. I had to pause the video to collect myself so I could watch the rest of the video without teetering on the edge of emotionally breaking down.

I think my favorite show was the VFW. John did it because he loves his country and he loves his vets. He didn’t do it to turn a profit. I used to go and do D-day shows for WW2 vets at our VFW. Not many of those guys left now which beyond breaks my heart. But, the VFW was the place they could go and say everything by just saying where they were stationed. People understood them there. And to see John holding back tears.. that doesn’t happen very often.
