There are a lot of things Jon Taffer hates to see when he walks into a bar, but owners drinking as much, if not more, than the customers is high on the list. Here are some of Season 5’s drunkest owners, unaware they’re being watched by Jon.

I like how Jon bails out of the car like a SWAT officer going to the biggest drug bust of his career, then calmly strolls into the bar at a leisurely pace.

56 weeks sober. These videos actually help me alot. It is so disgusting to even think I acted like this (edit 27/11/2021) Today marks 2 years of sobriety for me and I wanted to come back here and thank everyone of you, every person here whom I have never met but identified with and cheered me on. Whenever I would feel somehow I would circle back to my positive tiny part of the internet and keep on going. Thank you. Thank you! (EDIT 12th December 2023) Crossed the 4year mark 2 weeks ago, and still just thank you everyone for the care and support. This thread remains as important and valuable to me now as it was almost 3 years ago when I first posted it and just as always THANK YOU - wish I could still reply to everyone but KZbin says the replies are "resource exhausted - check quota"

The first guy I can really have a heart out for because who knows the amount of pain and trauma that he has seen. I couldn't even imagine medivacing people out of combat zones through war torn areas and getting shot at yourself. Who knows the amount of emotional trauma this man has gone through not only in the service of his own country but for humanity itself. I applaud his heroism but on the other hand he has to get a grip on his own situation to better equip himself for sustainability in not only his business but personal relationships and everyday life and I really hope he had that during and after the process of this rescue.

It‘s absolutely helpful to mention my qualifications, because then at least I don‘t get people asking "Oh yeah? How tf would you know?". @Bax 60 Being a bartender was one of the most fun jobs I've ever had, just the pay sucked. Thing I found with drunks is they're best avoided, so cutting them off before they became too wasted. Which I think is pretty much the law in the US and is here in the UK. We'd also get to know regulars who'd turn into mean drunks, so stopped serving them before that happened. Main thing was being firm and going from 'Haven't you had enough tonight?' to 'I think you've had enough', then 'No more' and finally they'd get barred if they were too much of a PITA. Worst thing though is owners who drink. I heard many stories of owners/landlords who started drinking, became alcoholics and lost their businesses. I guess it's like being a kid in a candy store, but more dangerous, and waaaay too easy to fall into the bottle.

I heard that Ashley is doing well outside of this industry now but she ruined her chance as a bartender with the massive tattoo job on her. She had the skills to be an excellent bartender but anything more profitable than a dive bar won't hire someone with that kind of tattoo job, it turns off the higher class customer base. Bartenders in some of the higher class bars make $500 plus a night with tips, Ashley could have made a decent living without the tattoos. Jon Taffer tried to include her on some of his bar rescue projects as a trainer but he couldn't have her out with customers in the bar because of her highly unprofessional look.
