Hands down one of THE BEST PCT docs. Like some, I doubted that I would watch the entire film (starting it late in the evening) but it was worth every moment. Masterful filming and editing. Music choices were perfectly matched to the scenes. Be proud of this film but equally proud of your journey. All the best to you in the future. Here's to more walks and more films.

Over the past few months I've been telling myself I want to do a big hike. Watching tons of vides learning the how-tos and gear knowledge. Went out and hiked over 15 miles one day and I felt better than ever. Made the decision that day to actually start the years long process to begin a big hike. Went home and ordered my first pair of real hiking shoes. I was giddy with anticipation for their arrival. I planned to go on a big walk as soon as they arrived. The next day, while sprinting through a heavily wooded area, I caught my foot hard on a tree root and avulsed my hamstring straight off my pelic bone. Super painful. The day I got home from the hospital after the surgery to reattach the tendon, my shoes were waiting for me on the porch. A little depressed now. I'm going to watch this movie with fingers crossed that it can help get me out of this.

That's probably because most people start in the South. After a while, you kinda saw everything and you just go on walking until your there. The first part is the experience, the second is finishing the job. At least for me it felt like that when I hiked the CDT. There are many pictures and many things to tell until I was emotionally done with the trail.

My wife & I watched this one just this evening and we both have to say “ Awesome”!! Great mini documentary and accomplishment. In 1980 when I was 20 years old Two friends & I took a 3 week trip up into Eastern Sierras from here in San Diego county & just backpacked & hiked all over , even attempted to summit Mt.Whitney, but we got chased off the mountain by Mother Nature in one of her Weather changing moods . On top of bare rock at almost 14,000 feet is no place to be when all Hell breaks loose , and a Thunder & Lightning storm begins raging all around you . Thanks to your video here I was instantly transported back to those days of my youth over 43 years ago . Unfortunately my two Friends from that Summer are no longer with us as they left this world for that great Hiking path in the sky , but I’m still here , by the Grace of God , and that Memory is still very vivid in my mind . I never Did get to fulfill my Own dream of doing the Pacific Crest trail from beginning to end , but have had the opportunity to hike small sections here in San Diego / Anza Borrego areas & that 3 week trek all those decades ago . You had a life changing adventure my friend , and trust Me , it WILL stay with you forever . 😎👍

Congratulations, Nathan on both your completion of the route, but also on a wonderfully produced film! Your editing, timing, music, dialog, and transitions are all of a high level, and I never would have finished such a lengthy video if it hadn't been so well done. Back in the 1970s, I dreamed of becoming the youngest person to ever hike the PCT, which had only been partly created at that time, with much of it being trail-less bushwacking and mountaineering. Eric Ryback from Michigan had just become the first person to complete it the year before at age 18, and written a book about it, which I devoured. I think I recall that his pack weight was around 80 lbs after very infrequent resupplies. When my parents found that I was seriously preparing to do this, they threatened to have me arrested as a 'runaway'. I've done a lot of backpacking, climbing, and mountaineering over my life, but never got the chance to hike the PCT (though I've hiked parts of it in WA). Thanks for your devotion to this project, and best wishes for many more adventures!

I live in Ashland, OR and PCT is one of my favorite trails and I hike it on a weekly basis at least. We have so many entry points to the PCT around me that I've tried many different sections all the way up to Crater Lake and parts in Burney Falls area. I always wondered what the trail looked like in other places and all the scenery. I am always amazed how beautiful the trail is and how different it gets even in my area. It was also interesting to see the same spots in your documentary where I hike or views I admire all the time and say "I know where this is". Forever grateful that I get to enjoy this trail all the time:-) I also like talking to through hikers I meet on the trail or when I give rides to PCT hikers into town. This year everybody is skipping the Sierras due to record breaking snow year. Every year there is something...

I’m glad you appreciated it! It was indeed a ton of work but so worth. Post-trail life is very different but I take it in better stride (no pun intended) than pre-trail life. Less stress and more meaning are the fruits of this changed mindset.

Just wanted to say you are an inspiring young man - fantastic cinematography and a heroic tale well told. Congratulations on your epic adventure. I always wanted to do something like this but life, family, career, there was always something to take precedence. Hopefully one day I can take my boys when they grow up, and we do some of this beautiful trail. May fortune smile upon you in your life ahead!

I've never been to that part of the US and would love to see it someday. Thanks for sharing! ❤ Right now I'm following the Appalachian trail hikers for this year and really enjoy their video's. Best wishes to you on whatever you choose to do in life. Hopefully you'll continue hiking and filming. ❤
