Well it's not just that Scarlett Johansson is Colin Jost wife but the joke also refers to how she was cast in Ghost in the Shell to play a part that was originally Asian so she was accused of whitewashing. So her playing Sammy Davis Jr was in reference to that

What makes that particular situation really wild is that was the one time where most of the people in Japan shrugged and didn't care about the casting choice because the only human part of the character left was her brain. She was a total conversion cyborg who had been through a number of different bodies throughout her life going back to her childhood when she had a fatal disease and all they could save was her brain. During the Manga, TV series, and animated movies she has been in multiple bodies with different appearances. To me the worst possible offender of that mess is Hachi: A Dog's Tale which moved the entire story to the US starred Richard Gere and the only thing left Japanese was the dog breed.

that whitewashing drama was kind off dumb being that she plays a robot/ android the only part were they messed up is by showing her human form still as Scarlett , if they had an actual asian actoress for the human part than i think a lot less drama would have happened because its based on a anime and in it the Android is white.

She was criticized for potentially taking roles that could have been given to underrepresented minorities that might not otherwise have a chance to headline a project.

All jokes aside, the Popeye's chicken sandwich would be a MUCH better president than Trump was. So, a democrat making this sandwich their running mate actually would not be a deal breaker for me. I'd still rather have a competent democrat in the Oval Office with a younger competent Democrat as VP, but if I have to settle for the Popeye's chicken sandwich being a heartbeat away from the presidency instead of Trump being president for the next four years, I can live with that.
